I do not think there 100K people in 2006+2007 PD. Thats a wild assumption. There is only 65k quota. I think 30K or 40K labor approvals during 2 years makes more sense to me.

I still don't get it. There are around 300k AOS applications now pending. Given that there are only 10k EB based green cards for India, and I am sure there are more applications than 10k for FY2008 and still Visa bulletin for Oct indicates a date of Apr 2004. Should it not be "U" for the entire FY2008?

There are 2 agencies involved here - DOS and USCIS. Visa numbers and cut-off dates are owned by DOS. 485 applications are held and processed by USCIS as and when visa numbers are released by DOS.

LUD on 140: 4/9/2008
LUD on AP: 8/8/2008
I-485 Approval: Hope to see it very soon
I have opened an SR as my case is out side the normal processing time. I have infopass appointment on Aug 27, 2008.
I will post my experience once I am done with my infopass or if I hear anything from NSC.

But, I agree that the requests by the original poster should not be a part of IV's letter campaign.
Everything else will then just follow...
And hopefully no more waiting for mid of the month bulletin updates :-) and years and years of restricted choices due to ongoing GC...

I am more concerned about I-765 EAD dates for NSC. Did it move? June 18 bulletin it shows as March 26, 2007.

Here is my daughter's case:
1994 she was 8 years old when we brought her to USA
2002 asylum case was denied, we had to go back to our country (we didn't stay illegaly)
2002 after one month we came back, with H-1 visa, daughter with H-4
2003 I applied for LC
2006 My daughter turned 21 - She had to change status to F-1 (of course college fees were triple). She is out of LC process because of her age.
2007 LC approved, she is still F-1 and paying a lot of money in tuition.
I mean, these kids like my daughter (and I am sure there are thousands like her), deserve a break too. If the DREAM ACT is going to benefit illegal persons, it should also benefit children that have waited for their parents' LC process for long years only to see their hopes destroyed.

Define "unprofessional" and how it applies to the replies here?
In what part of the world is standing up against drug peddlers and traffickers is limited to "personal" interpretations of moral? Drug laws are not intended to satisfy some lawmakers personal morals, but it is there because selling drugs is illegal regardless of what yours, mine or anyone else's personal moral fabric is.
We are not talking here about the idea of sex before marriage, , drinking, or other values that are left to the individual's personal moral beliefs. We are not talking about that here. We are discussion DRUGS in case you were not paying attention.

Lets just say the announcement is that you can apply EAD/AP once your LC is cleared. Then just like usual USCIS will spend there time precocessing these new applicants and you will have to wait 1 yr just to get EAD/AP.

Yes, don't worry guys. Once I-140 is approved, most of employment and job related stuff is over.
I-485 is mainly for status change stage to check criminal background (not job related :) ), FP and name check. They won't check much on job.
It is all straight forward and only a time consuming stage. Thats all. Enjoy the AOS pending stage.

Consider this example. It is possible that I-140 is approved in Dec 2005 and I-485 is filed in July 2007. There can be big time lag between I-140 and I-485.
I-140 is mainly matching job requirement to employee' skill set and experience and ability to pay for the employer. It does NOT check for out of status issues. I hope you know that person may not be US for I-140 to be approved.
I-485 is, like it says, adjustment of status and it checks for status issue. Please refer to section 245 in detail. Section 245(k), for example, applies to I-485 (and not to I-140).
Please confirm with your lawyer and get your info right.

God, within one month they processed only 9 days applications, mine is sep 20 and i dont know when my number will come. Damn, they can process 25k applications in 2 days but they cant process 9 days I-140 apps in one month. so frustrating, my h1 will expire on sep 29th 2007:mad:

The recent AILA prediction on the cutoff dates for EB3 for the month of october, how accurate can they be considering the following.
1. Dates until May 08 2001 were current for a long time until 2007 June. So most of the guys with that priority dates have already applied for AOS. Most of them might already gotten their GC. There may be a very few stuck in the process but that number should be very less.
2. For the month of June 2007 they moved the dates ahead by more than 2 years with whatever information they have.
3. Now by October 2007 there might be a few more cases, with PD before 2001 May 08, might get added but this number should be very less(I think).
Considering these factors how can there be a huge demand for visa nos with PDs before May 08 2001?
May be I am missing something really big here. My guess (wild) would be it would move ahead by atleast a year from Pre June 2001 VB dates when they open up in October 2008. Anyway I don't have as much info (or exp) as AILA and I could be grossly wrong.
This is no advice or suggestion, but purely my opinion.
