12 petabytes? That doesn't seem like too much, actually. that's 1GB of storage for 12 million customers
that's what I'm thinking... to support a iTunes cloud and new mobileme services, I would expect exabytes... Doesn't seem that big of an order.

Both Sata PCI cards arrived this morning!! Just need some sata cables now :D
And my apple mouse. Its the white one with a clear outside body and white inner case where the entire body is the button and without the track ball. It matches the white apple keyboard well. I think they are both of the generation that came out with the G5 macs as they are the same as I got with my imac G5 way back when

Today, I went to use my Mac and the Internet won't connect. Airport says it's connected (with the full set of bars). And my other wifi equipped devices are working fine.
Anyone got any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated.

Never heard of this but I can only find references to it on the Apple II:

There appears to be a ".DSK" disk image of it here:

The studios want Apple to limit the number of iPods that the downloads can be played on. Do they not realise that the entire point of the iTunes Store is to drive sales of the highly profitable iPods? I cannot see Apple agreeing.

All the while the real Big Brother, Google, gets surprisingly little scrutiny from the American press.
Well a huge part of that reason is Google responded fairly quickly when ask and kept a smaller file.
On the other hand Apple stayed complete silent hoping it would blow over, kept a larger file and refused to respond until it got pretty out of hand. Now they got caught and press kept on them.
Google kept the press off by responding early on with their reasons and that made them happy. Apple was silent.

Those Safari updates? I would expect no less!!
If Safari didn't at least keep up with FireFox, then shame Apple. At best Safari should innovate just as much as Apple claims. How about CoverFlow for cached pages?

At this point, I couldn't really care less about Blu Ray or HD-DVD. I'd be more excited if Apple included Lightscribe or equivalent capability in their drives. Unlabeled discs are piled high on my desk.

Probably a very long shot, but does anybody have plans to go to either of the above stores on Friday?
I'm torn between the two towns, but if there is somebody from here going to either then I'd be happy to meet up and natter to pass the time.

What was the image size? If you're wanting to get a leg up in the field for some real Photoshop work back at the office, you'll be using some big files. Especially if you start adding Layers. I doubt that these were very high rez. With 512MB ram, this is would a terrible real-world print application. Others have said this would be nice to play around with or to show off the iPad, but that's about all. I suppose you could do low-rez composites for a client, but I'd rather do that with a 15-17-inch MBP. You have a big screen, Photoshop CS5, plug in a stylus, 8GB RAM ---> that's a comp tool. IPad...? Not so much.

It's called "glossy blue by op." Have fun searching for it...that website really needs a search bar.
Damn website lol
I also liked your dock so I looked for it. For anyone else who wants it, it's the last one at page 10.

I recall many on this forum criticizing these techniques claiming they never provided useful information.
What say you now??
Personally, I was in favor of using these methods on prisoners that were known terrorists, such as K.S.M.
If the US signs the United Nations Convention Against Torture, and then admits using "enhanced interrogation" methods as part of its policy in the "War on Terror", then there is a double standard. We are either advocates of torture, or we are not.
Until advocates of "enhanced interrogation" grow a pair and start calling it torture, which is what it is, there is no point in even having a discussion on the subject.

Hi All,
First off I am new here, so Hi again
I have a small problem getting Microsoft Outlook 2001 to use my 2003 Exchange server. I have to admit I am new to macs and am finding it a little hard to do anything but I am trying.
From what I can tell is that for some reason my the mac will not resolve the server name to an ip address. I mean when I look in the Outlook settings, under services --> properties if I place the servers IP address there and then the user name and then 'check the name' it resolves the name of the server and under lines the user name (which as far as I am concerned has worked).
Yet when I then launch Outlook I get a message saying folders could not be opened. The attempt to log on to the server failed..... Microdoft Outlook could not be started. The attempt to log on to the MS Exchange Server failed....................
What I have done so far:-
Updated the /etc/hosts file and added the ip address for the server (can ping both IP and name from the console and network util)
When in Outlook settings --> properties and user the server name instead of the IP address and try and check name I get an error.. The name could not be resolved. Network problems are preventing connection to the MS Exchange Server, Contact your system adminsitrator (me).
Sorry for the long post but this is a real problem. Any help would be much appreciated.
Ian
PS The only thing I can sort of think of at the moment is that Outlook starts I think in classic mode??? I am not sure if this starts a new shell and therefore ignores the /etc/hosts file and that is the reason why it can not resolve the server name. If I am right my next question would be where is the hosts file for the classic enviroment??

Are TV shows and movies already available in HD? I looked but could not find a search engine that isolates HD programming.
Perhaps they have not started making TV shows and HD movies avialable. If not, any idea when? Thanks.
