Are you suggesting the fraud should not be reported?
Its like saying that do not report burglary in your home, as thief may do something bad to the family. Typical scare the victim approach.
No - I am not suggesting that!!
What I am suggesting is that the right time to take this up is when a recession is not in full swing. Between 2004 (when this law was enacted) and 2007 was a great time to pick this battle. Maybe another year down the line would also be a great time to pick it. Picking up this particular battle right now would probably make YOUR and MY lives much more difficult in the medium term.
Like you and the OP - I am a selfish individual. I will pick up only those fights which are in my interest. I believe that this particular fight is a lose-lose proposition in the current climate. I am disputing your (and OPs) belief that this will be beneficial for you/me/rest of us.
Lets take the example of the same Goldman Sachs manager. Tomorrow ICE comes to him and says you need to get rid of these 50 guys under you. What will he do? He cant increase the budget in the current environment. So he probably will hire a couple of GC holders/Citizens and replaces the whole division (with 50 GC/Citizens besides the 50 'violators') with an offshore team.
Think about it!!
Now is the time when everybody is thinking in terms of cost cutting. If you create costly disruptions now - then either the company becomes GM and lose out to overseas competitors or migrates the eitire division out.

Aliens and Nationality - 8 USC Section 1571
Sec. 1571. Purposes
(a) Purposes
The purposes of this subchapter are to -
(1) provide the Immigration and Naturalization Service with the
mechanisms it needs to eliminate the current backlog in the
processing of immigration benefit applications within 1 year
after October 17, 2000, and to maintain the elimination of the
backlog in future years; and
(2) provide for regular congressional oversight of the
performance of the Immigration and Naturalization Service in
eliminating the backlog and processing delays in immigration
benefits adjudications.
(b) Policy
It is the sense of Congress that the processing of an immigration
benefit application should be completed not later than 180 days
after the initial filing of the application, except that a petition
for a nonimmigrant visa under section 1184(c) of this title should
be processed not later than 30 days after the filing of the
petition.

Thanks for your reply - but I looked at both email and they are exactly same except for approval date on them. that confused me
how long it's taking to get actual card in mail after getting production email/ status update?
yup - i got duplicate CPO emails as well - one on sep 1 and another on sep 2. The LUD date also changed from sep 1 to sep 2 after the 2 updates. Today i got the 485 approved email.
Dont have the GC in hand yet - looks like none of the folks who got current in Sep have received their GCs yet. Speaking to some folks who got current last month, it seems like most folks had GCs in hand within 10-15 days of the first status update regarding CPO.

JUAN GONZALEZ: Lou, Id just like to ask you one last question. We have very little time left. But youve criticized many American companies, but CJR, Columbia Journalism Review, came out with a report in 2004 that questioned that your private newsletter, which goes to investors, has recommended investing in several of these companies thatthat you actually list
LOU DOBBS: You know what? When I came here, Juan, I knew this would be a lot of fun with you two, but youre really ridiculous
JUAN GONZALEZ: You actually list
LOU DOBBS: because I havent had a newsletter for three years, partner. I shut down the newsletter.
JUAN GONZALEZ: No, but when your newsletter was operating, it was recommending
LOU DOBBS: Oh, OK, when it was operating.
JUAN GONZALEZ: some of the very companies that you were criticizing for outsourcing.
LOU DOBBS: This is a very difficult thing for ideologues like you two to contend withthat is, balancing two concepts at the same time. But is there a correlation between investment in companies and a business practice that is absolutely pervasive in corporate America? Can you think of a single corporation in America that is not supporting outsourcing of jobs to overseas labor markets, cheap overseas labor markets?
AMY GOODMAN: Were going to have
LOU DOBBS: If you can name one
AMY GOODMAN: We have five seconds, Lou.
LOU DOBBS: then Ill suggest to you that there was probably a problem with that. If you cant, then you know that it was utter nonsense, and you shouldnt have brought it up.
AMY GOODMAN: Was it part of why you shut it down?
LOU DOBBS: No, not really.
AMY GOODMAN: Were going to leave it there.
LOU DOBBS: I was bored with it.
AMY GOODMAN: Lou Dobbs, thank you very much for joining us. His book is Independents Day: Awakening the American Spirit.

My point is not everyone wud then leave Vonage and move to another service , thats how Vonage wud gain, again are u sure u read the complete fine print :P
Look up Bait and Switch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bait_and_switch). If vonage intends to suddenly switch their offerings after gaining customers through misleading ad - then it fits the definition of Bait and Switch - which is clearly illegal in US.
So even if you leave aside the bad reputation from such a maneuver (which, in itself would be huge since their target consumer base is clearly immigrants - most of whom are savvy consumers) - Vonage may stand to lose a lot from legal fees and penalties if they try to pull such a trick. Class actions are not fun in US.

Heard the same from my lawyer, she has changed her tune completely in 2 days. Now she says that she is hearing the same thing and is possible. They are working through the weekend and has asked me to keep my blackberry on me at all times as they will be providing emails updates every 4 hours or if and when the said bulletin is released.
Will USICS will release on the weekend? If they have any thing it should be today or they will do it on monday evening . They will do it on monday so that they are safe and cover their skin ( always say they received 100000 Applications and they are good enough for the dates to go back)

And to make matters worse, this jerk married a Mexican woman. He is alway behind Mexico and Mexicans for some reason. Imagine that, he lives in NJ, has a several acre house, makes 7/8 figure salary and then teaches American middle class a lesson to avoid goods produced in China/Mexico/India. Avoid them because they add up to trade deficit of USA, avoid them because those countries have stolen jobs from middle class Americans. Why doesn't Lou Dobbs stop using software written by some Indian/Chinesse guy? Why doesn't he stop eating at a place where in the kitchen a Mexican guy is making his meal? why doesn't he stop using Japnesse cars? Why doesn't he quit eating Pizza....afterall it is Italian food? Why doesn't he stop driving on interstate highways...part of those were made by African Americans. I am asking Lou Dobbs to show me his grand father's VISA/I-94 when he came to the USA, on a ship, half starved, half naked from some european country and never went back! This guy blames mexicans/legal or immigrations for this country's broken health care system. Other day, he was concerned that in California, especially L.A. and surrounding area, white people's percentage has gone below 50%, Mexicans and Indians are having too many kids, whites are not having enough kids.........this is by far the most racist program CNN runs and we need to do something to put a stop on it.

If I hadn't already spent $34 on sending flowers to USCIS, I would have definitely sent a "bon voyage" bouquet to you.
To anyone still thinking about sending flowers, do this woman a favor, and send her flowers instead!
Please don't make fun out of it. Whatever I thought, I conveyed. Please understand and evaluate whether this is really a fact or a joke.

I am planning to get H1 stamped in Chennai in April.
(I also have AP, but would prefer to use the H1B1 )
In case the process takes too long, due to PIMS, can I cancel this process, get my passport back and enter the United States using AP?
