Too much visiblity may not be good. Anti immigrants also will do more aggressively. Illegal immigrants also doing rally every year May 1. But they cannot impress congress though they have powerful lobby. Congress is divided based on their area people opinion. When congress changes and more pro immigrant members are there in congress then bills will be passed easily. Now the surprise is no single immigration bill is coming atleast for voting. Then only we can find whether those bills have support or not.

Guys.. i'm sick of this nonsense.. I mean this is ridiculous.. this is my second go around in this stupid lottery.. last year I hadn't graduated so they put me in the bachelors quota.. this year the freaking masters quota is full.. i have a genuine offer from one of the big 4 accounting firms.. and have work experience to back it up
i'm sick of these consultant firms.. i wish I could work for the uscis and weed out these miserable cheapsters.. 6 years toiling in their education system, paying the damn taxes, and waiting for 1 smart person to come along and tell them its time to take care of these consultant companies and their consultants who get the jobs based on deceit and conmanship..

it is an acceptable proof, they said they have a rule that if the document has no expiration date, they can only give you a driver license with validity 6 months beyond the receipt date of your document (with the wild assumption that any I-485 application is approved or denied within 6 months)
In some of States they accept EAD also which can be valid upto two years. But any way it is pain.

IMHO "legally" exploiting the system is illegal. I don't blame the system because any system will have some flaws in them. I would rather blame people who take advantage of situations esp in scenarios like this. We all know how much time some people has waited here. We heard a story on Monday right? Have we already forgot that? IV's goals and objectives are clear on its home page. Here comes the OP, registers himself and comes up with his first post of Labor substitution and how to better himself. I don't see any thing wrong in pete getting fired up. This exact attitude is the result of 6500 members and not 25,000 or what ever.

If I was judging you I would have concluded that you support what the OP is doing and wouldn't asked you what your stand is. It depends on how you understand what I said. That means Eb-2 I screwed....for several months.

They are very much better off now. Their dates will be all current in one-two years. We in EB3 have to wait 20 years. So couple of month wait is nothing.

It's really strange the surge in non-legal issues threads..
If the poster had any genuine hope of getting help she wouldn�t be posting it on a forum for foreigners who obviously have no lobbying power and if we did we will be using it for ourselves first.
Somebody is trying to establish an association between us and drug and other law breaking criminals..
Time to put these red dots to a good use.. Get�er boys :)
Lets get over with all the "conspiracy theories", times are tough and people are getting knocked down faster than 10 pins in a bowling ally, IV's brand value is way more than what it use to be, hence traffic/people come in here for redress-els, in no way does the name Immigration Voice directly tell anyone its for Legal based Green Card issues, so people come in here for all and any immigration based issues.

Canada has the stupidest immigration policy from the standpoint of policy maker if you ask me.
Dont get me wrong. It works great for us. For the immigrant. You get greencard on an independent petition(self-petition) and adjudicated based on points. And there is no numerical cap.
Guess what? It works great for everyone in the world, everyone has flocked there and caused and over supply of labor and 9% or higher unemployment. The way they count unemployment is also very Enron-like. They dont count people receiving unemployment benefits as unemployed. And then Jim Volpe will post on website "Canada has unemployment rate of 5-6%".
Anyways, if you want to immigrate to a country, you want to go where there is low unemployment. That is the biggest criteria for choice. USA's system HAS HUGE FLAWS. The employer petition-system creates a breeding ground for exploitation and the numerical cap is too low that results in delays that are unbearable. And yes, the DOL has come really close to making people commit suicide because of labor backlogs. But then, only the employer petition system can actually give greencards to THOSE WHO CAN SURVIVE and get jobs in the economy and not give greencards just because they scored points.
I know I will receive a lot of flak as I have before, and I wish there was points based system here in USA too with self-petition option like Canada, but trust me, if that happens, then this country will be full of people with greatest points,(obtained thru fake degrees and Ph.Ds from the whole world) and really really make the nightmares of NumbersUSA and FAIR become true, and it wont be worth living.

Section 245(i) is a part of the INA. In 2001, this section was updated to allow people present illegally to submit a labor certification. This resulted in the DOL getting 6 years worth of applications in April 2001. These applications led to the establishment of the Backlog Elimination Centers and the PERM process. The applications filed 6 years ago are still being processed by the DOL..

I suspect there is more to your story than you are letting on. If you are 21 now, you would have been 19 in 2005 and well able to understand the consequences of becoming an illegal immigrant. As someone said the F1 was an option if you wanted to maintain legal status.
Iam in the very same position. I do not have kids and thus do little research on the acts pertaining to this situation. But I am all for doing my part, if someone can explain and provide relevant links on how this will impact the EB community. I have no qualms in admitting that Iam in IV only to support the EB cause (it also helps me). I do not want IV to take up a cause that will have a dilutive effect on EB cause.

Great news! I was never on H4 so it does not really affect me. But any good news for skilled immigration is good news.
Now can we get news on SKIL bill passage or USCIS allowing filing I485 during retrogression?
