u can easily get an affadavit from someone with a business that says u worked there for a period of x days while ur h1 was with yyy company... that puts u into an illegal category too.

Thanks for your prompt replies. It is good to get reliable first hand information from travelers instead of relying upon reports from consulates, airline websites etc which all contradict one another. Just out of curiosity, did anybody in India or Frankfurt ask to see the Advance Parole papers before allowing you to board the flight?

Desi consultants should be heavily fined or shut down if they get caught in filing multiple petitions. Why doesn't USCIS take reasonable steps to avoid these kinds of fraud. i hate it when desi consultants hire people from business background and file a H1B for them as a DBA's or programmer analysts or QA's....!!!

Peter Goss, Social Security’s Chief Actuary, has estimated that three quarters of undocumented immigrants pay payroll taxes. This generates $6 to $7 billion per year in Social Security tax revenue and $1.5 billion in Medicare taxes.
According to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, undocumented noncitizens paid almost $50 billion in federal taxes from 1996 to 2003. Recent reports from across the country indicate that during the 2007 tax season, record numbers of undocumented people filed tax returns.
As IRS Commissioner Mark Everson, a former immigration official, stated in testimony before Congress last year, “If someone is working without authorization in this country, he or she is not absolved of tax liability.” In a more recent speech to the National Press Club, Everson added, “We want your money whether you are here legally or not and whether you earned it legally or not.”

what is this? there are delivered date and received date with received date before the delivered date. How can they receive before the delivery. Hmmm Did USCIS guys ran early morning 4 O Clock to UPS/ FED-EX/ ETC to receive the app before those guys attempted to deliver :) Even if someone says, "YES", there was 6 days difference between those two days. No idea what USCIS is doing.

Are they going to approve cases which was filed during July 2007 with 2006 or 2007 priority dates, if they fall under namecheck issue.

To my understanding you can use EAD and then switch back to H1. However, it is still unclear if one can do job on EAD as well as hold the H1 status.

Yes, don't worry guys. Once I-140 is approved, most of employment and job related stuff is over.
I-485 is mainly for status change stage to check criminal background (not job related :) ), FP and name check. They won't check much on job.
It is all straight forward and only a time consuming stage. Thats all. Enjoy the AOS pending stage.
This is confusing..I have a similar situation(not paid for 2 weeks)..
When i talked to my lawyer she said that employement verification is done in I-140 and since that is approved I dont need to worry abt it for 485??
What does your lawyer say?

we all suffer, waiting for the administration/immigration policies to be humane to us..but honestly they've only gotten worse every year. the only good thing was the july bulletin but that also was becoz of the pressure from the big companies who'd already paid big bucks for immigration/attorney fees.

Folks, can dependent's participate in writing letters to President? I have already mailed my hand written letter to White House and copy to IV team, in addition to that I got confirmation from other Indians with whom I work also mailed their letters..If dependents are also allowed then count for another 10 letters from my side...;)
