Anyone even remotely thinking of voting for Trump should watch this video from last night's Anderson Cooper show. (Part 2 airs tonight Tuesday 4/26)
http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/26/video-trump-doubles-down-on-birtherism/
Or if you prefer to read about it instead:
http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/25/trump-claims-obama-birth-certificate-missing/
I used to somewhat respect this man. But the more he blathers on, the less I like or respect him. He doesn't sound that far removed from a carnival sideshow barker at this point. Definitely not Presidential material.

Perhaps it would be more palatable with a monthly subscription rather than coughing up $99 for a full year in advance. Heck, they could charge higher monthly fees for increased storage and I bet people would pay.
This isn't 2004. 1gb total storage for email and idisk is pitiful when Yahoo, Hotmail and Google already offer over 2gb of email space alone, for free.

Technology is evolving all the time. And if movies are not offered for sale via download, there will be just more people downloading movies from filesharing networks without any profit for the movie companies. Certainly a part of the legal dowload business would go to companies like Wall Mart or Target, but on the bottom line the profit will be smaller for the movie companies because of more illegal downloads.
The same thing happened with music before and it was seen that many of the people using illegal download networks were also satified with a reasonable legal download service. Many people just wanted the comfort of not having to drive to a store to pick up a CD.

It's funny how the capitalists are all for a free market...until it starts working against them.
DING DING DING we have a winner.
Yeah, downloads 'might' be less expensive to sell, because you have no B&M store, no packaging, no shipping, etc etc. But downloads have their costs too: servers (lots of them), bandwidth (lots of it), etc etc. Totally different delivery mechanisms, but doesn't automatically mean that one is cheaper than the other to 'deliver'.
Target and Wal-Mart and other big box stores occasionally fight small communities for the free market 'right' to open a store. But they bitch and moan when someone new sells a similar product in a new and innovative way.
Should work both ways, guys - an equal market is an equal market. Unless you want competitors to be less 'equal' than you. (not very eloquent, but you get the drift).
There is a brand new Target open just a couple miles from me... that I haven't been tempted yet to step foot into. Target's stance on this issue seals the deal... I won't be venturing into that shiny brand new store.

In that case, bring it on, I eat punks like you for breakfast! :D
Maybe this should be a new feature for the folding widget: to look when you will be overtaken by someone or when you overtake someone.
Actually, I should be able to do it, you would have to choose your targets yourself though. I will not be able to provide you with the closest threats and/or overtakes, but if you know who you want to track, it's not that hard to show/calculate.
I'll first clean up the code, add detailed stats, Then i'll redesign the layout and incorporate the threats/overtakes (this might take a while - busy period @ work).
Now if someone would post this widget in this (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=128541) thread i'd be a happy man. I would do it myself, in fact i almost did...
Come to think of it, asking is the same as posting it myself but... bah.. lol prrt <over and out> sry
;)

Is not true: a 50mm EF lens and a 50mm EF-s lens will have the same focal length and field of view on a crop camera.
I don't think that's true. I pretty much know it's not actually.
Shooting a 50mm on a 5d will produce a focal length of 50mm and a Field of view of 50mm. (50x1+50)
Shooting a 50mm on a 7d will produce a focal length of of 50mm and a field of view of 80mm. (50x1.6=80)
Part of the reason these two cameras exist is because one of them (5d) is full frame, awesome pictures for weddings say. Slow fps but that's not what it's for.
The 7d however is aimed at sports photogs or wildlife for example. Still an awesome picture, but loses some of it (including aperture, and the fact you can't get as smaller dof, and ISO and the fact you can't get the same low light abilities) for a much faster fps. The focal length multiplier will also help so that you can get closer to the picture with the same lens.
Same with their top two cameras one is the ultimate full frame camera (the 1D-s mkIII), the other is the ultimate crop (1.3) camera (the 1d mkIV).
If there was no difference they wouldn't do it.
it's a smaller sensor, so therefore a smaller field of view.
Why don't you just google it? Or put in a source that proves you right?

The line was pretty mad, but it seemed to move rather quickly once the doors were opened at 6pm. My hat is off to those who in the queue who had a word with the queue cutters as well as the Apple staff. (Dear queue cutters get with the program, or go back to your friends at Microsoft.)
I was amazed at the number of people in the queue that didn't buy Leopard. LOL... was the lame free t-shirt really worth your time in the queue?
I was a bit embarrassed by all the hot women who asked us what we were queuing up for. Oops, was I really standing in a queue for 2 hours on a Friday night. Hell ya! I saw the ladies later with a big box in my pocket.
Apple you get poor marks for selling Leopard right by entrance door and free t-shirts. It was rather disorganized. (Lets hope you learn for next month's iPhone event.) Upstairs seemed like it could use a few more rows of seats.
I got the new OS. A belly full of sushi. A bloodstream full of alcohol. And, a much lighter wallet. Fun times. I love London!

Apple doesn't have to have a public event to update the machines. They'll just appear on the website someday.
Exactly. MacBooks appeared with no fanfare at all.

Wouldn't using the "extra" electricity to power fans to decrease heat lead to less "extra" electricity???? I hope they really think this through - and I'm sure they will. Of course powering fans isn't the only use for electricity.
I think that maybe you could think of this as something that harnesses the heat and slows the power drain from the battery for the same amount of heat produced by the cpu.
Of course they could use the extra power to provide a little more cooling to the chip, but only enough not to take the thermal difference (which generates the power in the first place) away. Now that makes it a lot clearer dosn't it!
Another cool idea would be to use one of those microscopic steam turbines. Steam turbines would remove heat and create power at the same time.... or was that some dream I had.

I guess Apple has a problem with the free advertising, for some reason. Being associated with new technology like podcasting seems like something Apple would like to foster.
Would they prefer them to be called 'Zune-casts' ???
I'm with ya, Onizuka!
You know what? There was an ex-MTV VJ that made his own show using a Powerbook and two mics and he called it "Podcasting." There was an issue of Wired Magazine with him on the cover damn near two years ago. People were using the term "podcast" before Apple did. Apple has no right to do thsi to teh people who've made their player the most successful MP3/Portable Media device EVER.
*kicks steve jobs in the nuts for allowing this*
