Yes, same experience with us. The school had some evaluators and they are the only ones that are considered, so check with the university for the list first.

hi..Many thanks..this is an excellent information..I was suggested to wait for the H1 Decession and then get L2 status.Good to know that we can do L2 and EAD cocurrent filing.is there any URL about this information ?? Secondly..

according to the current regulations
h1b is a dual intent visa - u can continue to hold h1 status even if 485 has been filed and pending
u can also file for ead and keep both h1b and EAD statuses at the same time. working on ead will not make h1 invalid.

I just got my Labor approved (PD - 2/22/2008) . Attorneys are working on filing I-140.
1. Shall I wait for I-140 PP to re-instate or go ahead with normal processing?
2. Is there 'ANY' chance that my PD will be current before I get I-140 approval when filed through normal processing?

1. Go ahead with normal. it can be bumped up to PP whenever PP is reinstated by paying $$$. You will save time this way, if PP is not reinstated until the time your 140 is normally processed.
2. Highly unlikely. However, if it does, you can still apply for 485 even if your 140 is pending. I read somewhere that CIS will remove 140/485 concurrent processing in future, but I have no idea about this.

My status on the DOL website shows 'CERTIFIED'. How long after status 'certified' will the attorney get hard copy of the approval notice so we can proceed wth I-140. It has been almost 1 and 1/2 weeks since I saw my status as certified.
Also, how soon after applying I-485 can we travel abroad.

I second it :) NO SSN REQUIRED FOR PP. I filled out 000-00-0000 for my son. I believe there was a site or document I looked up and got this info (dont remember where I found it).
You dont need a PIO. If it is emergency or you dont have time, just get a multiple entry visa. For kids at that age it does not make any difference whether they enter on PIO or a visa. Chicago issues visa the same day.
BTW does Indian consulate do background check and issue 221(g) :D:D
PS: I live in IL as well and you dont need SSN for kids to get a PP :)

The company is very healthy financially and has around 100 employees on payroll. They have successfully processed many GCs for the existing employees in the last 3 years. The irony is one of my friends that filed with me on the same advertisement and profile got his GC 18 months ago!!

This is for a good friend of mine. He is going to get married in dec 2007. He has already applied for 140 premium processing. There is a opportunity to apply for 485 by end of this month and he has asked me for advice on this matter. His labor has PD March 2005(got cleared).
My request to all IV members is to give me some advice that I can pass on to him.
Please help !
I think due to rescinding of the July visa bulletin dated July 2 there will be severe retrogression starting October 2007. Your friend should apply for I-485 now and he can turn in a follow-up I-485 for his wife after he gets married. You have to just hope that the priority dates do not become current before that. If there is any inklink of that happening in Oct bulletin I think he should try to get married sooner.

do you think the USCIS will not make the decision on the 2nd 140 until the appeal is processed. If thats the case then the 2nd 140 approval will take a long time.
I'm also in the same situation and my lawyer refiled 140 in EB3 and he was suggesting to withdraw the appeal on the denied EB2-140. Last week I spoke to Rajeev Khanna and he also suggested the same.

The whole non-compete agreement is a cruel joke on the employee who finds his own project. All these incapable bad desi employers ban the employee from joining the client whom the employee got them in the first place.
I know a friend of mine works for an employer, he found his own project through a vendor, now because of non-compete agreement he cannot join the client, nor the vendor and now the employer and vendors are buddies and thinking of other business opportunities. In all this the employee is the loser while it was he who brought the employer and vendor together into minting more money at his expense.

First thing, price , leg space, comfort & food ...All 4 it is difficult to get the best.
Cheapest would be air India. However service/food is bad. Also they keep changing schedule.
Singapore airlines/Cathay pacific service/food is good. Leg space is also better and
priced slightly higher than AIr India.
So I recommend these 2 (Singapore/Cathay)

A while ago on one of the conference calls, if i remember correctly, it was mentioned that there wud be a team of ppl who would be aggressively calling up people and ask them to join.
First off am i correct? If i am correct, I was wondering if the same team could look at the contributions from the various members and call the "dormant" members up and ask them why they are apprehensive to contribute.

Assuming the insurance company does not reimburse us for 485 medical exams, then can we atleast seek tax rebate on this expenditure? In other words, are the medical expenses incurred for 485 filing deductible at the time of tax filing?
