i got a call from my employer stating that my 45 days later has coem (whether i want to continue with the green card process or not)
i called my lawyer to find out if the pepers have arrived which i need to sing and get signed from my employer and return ..and she has nto recived them
wat do we do now?
can we ask for another copy and how tp go about thsi process?

No offence but this forum (I am sure you know it already) is only for retrogression related issues and current happenings in the senate and such other issues. Please use the forum on immigration.com where I am sure you will have a lot more luck in getting your questions answered.

Yes - as long as your 485 is pending and you have a US address to receive the card.

Quick survey to findout how many people like the idea of having their passports restamped here in USA and avoid all the surprises and shocks. This doesn't need any legal fixes. It is a convenient measure for everyone. Besides it was an old practice that was stopped for "security" reasons or some crapp. It is a small step but helps with any cases like family emergency or some urgent business need to travel abroad.

Yes its true. Since 2008 Canada has been tightening the skilled immigration rules and has now restricted to mainly educated or worked in Canada or few occupations only.
Recently even Alberta has tightened the provincial program as well.

Thank you for your response. Company B is not willing to sponsor H1B.
Lets say if campany A keeps paying me (runs my payroll with salary specified on my H1 petition) Will that keep my H1b alive and active when i work on EAD for company B ? ( Did i get that right )
Will USCIS know that i have switched jobs in between ?
What does IMHO mean ?

Hi All,
I recently got my I140 approved and I am waiting to file my I485 as my priority date(Oct 2007) is still not current(EB2 category, India).Not sure how long it is going to take as the current backlog is July 2000 for India and China.
My brother is a citizen of the US and I need to clarify if my brother can apply for a family-based green card for me and how long does it take to get the EAD when applied through this process as compared to filing through the employer when I reach my priority date.
Also need to clarify if this process is sooner or still the same as applying through the employer.

I guess you should wait for reciept # , it may take upto 6 weeks,once you get reciept# you can apply for EAD/AP on your own.

Unfortunately, looks like it does not matter what visa is being sought. My wife applied for H4 with PhD in Pharmaceutics.

My confusion is, as soon as I enter on AP I am on EAD and I don't have approved EAD. Does this mean I can not work untill I get EAD approved? I don't have Visa Stamped and I am not planning for Visa Stamping.
you can still continue on H1B (same employer) as long it is validity..even when you use AP at POE..

This is not really a revelation as visa fraud has been a problem for decades at US consulates around the world. But it reminds us that there are bad actors out there and US consular officials have a tough job in trying to make sure that deserving applicants get visas while they ferret out the fraudsters. The $500 anti-fraud fee that accompanies every H-1B petition is supposed to help provide the funding to properly investigate and root out fraud. It sounds like the system is working.
