    I will take this oppurtunity to thank everyone who showed the courage by joining us at Washington DC.

    It was a great pleasure meeting all the people from the New England area. I finally got a chance to put a face to all the names with whom i have talked on conference calls. This was just an amazing experience and i am hoping we will get a chance to have more such experiences and we will keep on continuing our efforts till the time we get the system fixed.

    Folks, the rally was a huge success. The situation room (15th, 16th, 17th) was an example of all the positive energy which was builing up for the rally.
    The reception(17th) was a showcase of IV. The rally(18th) was the final bang.

    But inspite of having so many people affected from the GREEN CARD delays from the New England area, we just had a few folks show up at the rally. This was really disappointing.

    I am sure there must be a very good reason for that. But if you have any doubts, we will really like to talk to you and clarify your doubts.

    As i always say.

    hi all
    I plan to probably file under the EB2 category soon- I know EB1 and EB2 can be filed separately, however can a EB2 regular and a EB2 with NIW application both be filed separately as well?
    Need to know this asap, so would appreciate a reply, Thank You!

    Really appreciate the update paskal. I tried to look for this all over the internet but could not find it. So I posted it. I am not on J visa, however, many of my friends are.
    I would certainly join the physicians chapter and do what I can to to push provisions.

    I dont think there's any such thing as renewing an I-140.

    Its not true,

    My daughter is 3years 5months old and she got FP notice and gave finger prints in Nov 2007. The only change for them is they will get FP Notice with Code 2[means they will take FP for only one hand] and we all get Code 3 FP notice.

    Its at the discretion of the officer at POE.......I was asked for my EAD even when I had a valid H1B and last time when I had travelled on AP I was asked for my EAD......

    why don't you apply for duplicate documents with the USCIS?

    Looks like there is a huge backlog of perm applications. I am not sure if they will look at your application anytime soon. If your application is pending more than a year at least you could apply for extension of H1.

    It will be delusional on our part to think that perm applications will have an easy approvals.

    Stuggling to get a PERM approval since JUN 07. For a moment if i just forget about this PERM, What are the chances that my H1b Extension will be approved without any problem? My situation is I have completed 5 years and 4 months on H1b. My visa expires Mar 2010 and my 6 yrs term expires in NOV 2010, out of USA stay of only one month. I switched only one employer after coming to US. With the new employer since Mar 07. Will there be any problem with H1b Extension till OCT 2010

    Yes. Your H-1B only allows you to work in that position, for the H-1B employer.

    Also, if I am approved for an EAD down the road, can I use the EAD to do acting work on the side?

    Yes, however you will also need to use the EAD to authorize you to continue the computer programmer position. As mentioned above, once you work as an actor, you have violated the H-1B status and cannot use it even for the programmer position.

    Hi All,

    I got RFE on 485(field in Dec 2004) in last month for TB Skin test and employement letter. My PD is not current but INS is processing my application. I am waiting for physical notice from attorney. I have dependent whose AOS is not filed now I can not file due to retrogression.

    With July bulletin my PD becomes current I am ready to file AOS to my dependent. Offcourse not sure that once I submitted to attorney how soon he will send to USCIS.

    I have question that which one is best option to file dependet's AOS?

    Submit dependent's AOS with evidences to RFE ? Means in same cover?
    or
    Submit dependent's AOS and evidences to RFE separatley?

    Please advise.

    Pappu / LogicLife / Admins / Gurus on IV,

    I have a request / concern / what ever you would say.

    Please do not cirtize if you do not like the idea, just ignore and leave the thread.

    There are so many people comming to IV for other experts guidance on different things mainly on H1B status, AC21 status, AP, FP, EAD and H4 to EAD, .....

    Why don't you create a general guide lines or rules or do's and don't or QA's for each topic, so that each member or visitor who come to IV can atleast go through them before asking or posting quesitons.

    You can create a survery for different kinds of questions people / members / visitors might ask or have fore each topic before creating the thread so that we can have a pool of questions and answers for each topic from experts or attorney answered. (you might say we have recordings from attorney Prashanti Reddy, but it would be good if we have some thing which can be referred easily i.e., typed.

    These are just some of my thoughts, it can or cannot be implemented. It depeneds on IV admins/Gurus/Experts on this forum.

    Gurus, please provide your thoughts.

    Please do not ignore this though. It might become a very good guidelines/guide/rulesbook for all, not all questions might be answered but we can atleast try to cover most of the questions through survery and then create the thread for each topic.

    Good luck to all. IV is great in doing such a tremendous job.

    Please advise on the status of removing the residency requirement

    I have already sent my 485 application
    1-140 cleared

    In the field I94# and expiration I entered I 94 number which is on the white card on the passport and it is the same as the number on my renewed h1 papers.However I entered expiry date from the i94 on the passport,which is oct06 instead of the 010 date in the renewal.

    will that be a problem..? CAN I CORRECT IT AFTER I get the reciept no or will thay be able to verify with the latest h1 paper that i94 is valid

    They do (3 years old info). Make sure you ahve all the documents that are mentioned in their checklist. They will give you the visa with the expiry date based on your I-94.
