Greetings,
My father (over 60 years) is coming to the States in June 15, and his B1 visa expires on June 24. However, my father is planning to stay until August 20.
My question is:
Will he be able to stay after his visa expiration date?
In other words, when will his I-94 expire?

Once your father enters the US, the expiry of the visa does not matter. Your father will be able to stay in the US till the expiry of the I-94.
The expiry of the I-94 will be determined by the officer at the port of entry. Usually, for parents, it is granted for 6 months, but there is no hard and fast rule and it totally depends on the officer who is stamping the I-94. However, I think for B-1, the max. duration is usually six months (again - not 100% sure about this - it could be longer too).

IMHO, If you have a valid H1b visa, then you need to be gainfully employed to keep the visa valid and that would mean you continue to get paid. If not, then that that is a problem. Joining the 2nd company on EAD is not a problem. Coming back to the 1st company on EAD is not a problem either. If you want to keep your H!b alive/valid, then I would suggest that you port/transfer your H1b visa to the 2nd company and when you are done with him, transfer h1b back to 1st company.
Seems like a lot of trouble to keep the h1b visa valid, but then again, that is one of the options.

Hello everybody,
I just got an RFE for I-485...they are asking about marriage certificate and birth certificate...when I applied for I-485, I sent marriage certificate and birth certificate ..why they are asking me again to send?
And can you tell me please what to do with the following.......Uscis sent me too an envelope where to put my documents for RFE.......but the docs dont fit in the small envelope...is it ok if I put my docs in a different and bigger envelope?
My PD is sept 2005 ROW.
If someone faced the same situation please help me with some advice.

Yes, the new quota starts on Monday. However, you still need a current priority date and all security clearnances before you are eligible for approval. (At least that's how it will work for the most part).
Who knows if they used all the 2007 numbers up. I suspect they will be very close to having done that given the number of applications they had.
Out of the entire year quota, they can allocate only 1/4 th of it in the first quater. This is why it is impossible for USCIS to allocate the yearly quota in one day. [Whether they have such a efficient system to do so is a different debate].
I wonder why they don't have such a distribution for H1B allotment though :D

some people travelled in 2008 got a messed up I-94
forms( printing bug). So whoever travelled in 2008
may want to have a very good look at their I-94 and
correct it if needed.

Correct and valid I-94 should have 11 digits of I-94 numbers. If your I-94 shows only 9 didits or 10 digits or less than 11 digits, your I-94 card is one of these million's defective cards. The agency is recalling such defective I-94 cards for replacement I-94. Reportedly these defective I-94 cards were issued at the Calgary Airport in Canada and potentially other airports as well. Those who have such defective I-94 should contact Deferred Inspection posts or any Port of Entry for issuance of replacement I-94. Defective I-94 can create a number of problems down the road unless they obtain replacement I-94.

Thank you for the reply. My confusion stemmed from whether i can use my US License as my id for gaining the license. Or whether somehow my A# or I94 number had to be noted on the license/certificate in order to use it at a later point for the green card process.
