Please do not stop because they didn't transfer you. The reason I say that is they keep track of the number of calls they get to sponsor a bill and they take our calls into consideration. one office I was talking to recently kept a tally of the no. of people who called asking for support and number of people of people who called asking not to support the bills. I was amazed to find that out
I called 4 member, the person at frontdesk didn't transfer me anywhere. Also, they knew why I am calling and they remember all three Bill Numbers by heart now.
When I said Can I leave the message then I was told we got your message Sir, and I will pass on the message to Senator.
The frontdesk staff is instructed not to transfer our calls to the right person in their office. So after calling 4 members, I stopped.

Congrads. What was your notice date. My case is similar to yours. Dec 2005 PD with Sep 4th notice date. Hope my case is in the same pile as yours :)

I am in a similar situation. My wife who is on H1B did not worked till date.
Is it possible if she carries the vacation letter from the employer and go to India for H4 stamping? My wife do not have any paystubs.

It will be very difficult to argue unpaid vacation for > 50% employment time. There is alawya a risk of getting Change of Status approved without I-94 and could result in I-485 denial if out of status > 180 days.
Out of Status is NOT an issue for H4 visa stamping.

add to that aman's lost bags and cell phone and constant attempts to call akhil to retrieve his wallet...poor akhil arrived back huffing and puffing and in mortal panic...later we discovered we had his home phone number and had been leaving messages on it for 2 days...and wondering why in the world he would not pick his phone up!
It was a unique situation.........
me and my wife were coming back from a lawmakers meeting and found that Aman was waiting for his wallet as the luggage was in my car...........
while walking fast she scratched her ankle badly and was not able to walk properly............ so i made her sit at an intersection and ran towards the hotel............ then had to rush back to get her, as i had asked to her wait at an intersection....
was fun and by the time i reached back i was like all huffed/puffed up and she was laughing at me...........

If this is true then it looks like this came as a surprise to everyone (including core members). But, I am glad that this is happening and hope its true and successful.

Is there any last date of doing medical if one needs to file by July31st?
If you have everything else ready, It takes roughly 2-3 days (atleast 48 hours) from your 1st doctors appointment to when you get the reports. This is the best case scenario considering your results for HIV & TB come out -ve. If you need a chest X-ray, add in another day atleast.
Also, If you filing through a lawyer, there is a significant backlog there, most of the lawyers will not file your papers the day you give it to them, considering you give your lawyer, all completed forms and not a questionairre, it will take a few days for the lawyer at the earliest to go through the papers.
I submitted my papers to the Lawyer last Monday, tentative date for filing given to me is after July4th (6-7 business days after submitting everything). They are filing on FIFO basis.

Agreed. Changing the spillover rule is the easiest in this bad economy.
How about we propose to USCIS/DOS to give spillover based on PD and not based on Category. This way EB3-I and EB2-I will move forward steadily without any fuss. I know initially it will help most of EB3-I but once EB3-I catches up with EB2-I then both can move forward together.
Just a thought. I am sure EB2-I will give me lots of reds but I don't care.

Hundreds of members visit this website every day. I am just really surprised that we are having trouble getting people to participate in Advocacy Days and raising $50,000. It seems like a no-brainer to me to participate in whatever way possible.
There have been around 250 contributions so far. Some members have contributed a few hundred dollars each, with a couple of members contributing $500+ each, and some have pledged $100 for every $2500 or $5000 raised, just to help try and reach the target. They wouldn't have had to put in so much if everyone else chipped in.
I am really curious to know why you are not getting more involved and at least contributing financially to this effort if you cannot attend the Advocacy days. You are the beneficiary. What is holding you back from trying to do something tangible to help yourself, your family and your friends? Are you seriously going to tell me that it's not even worth $50 to you?
This is the best shot we are going to have in the next two years.

No news on EAD,
65 days and counting.
Got RFE on e-filed AP for my wife. They probably lost photos and asked for new set. Just shipped the reply and photos back to TSC.
Hope that triggers something.
Last time, I got couple of soft LUDs on 07/24; 07/25; 07/27 on all our EADs and APs. Wife's AP has hard LUD 08/05 (when they issued RFE) and soft LUD 08/06 (when RFE was mailed).

i met a guy like this last weekend. came to US 2/3 yrs back. has masters in India and has 5 yrs total experience. not doing any research. He is actually a contractor at a client. the employer, applied his GC under EB1. he got GC under 1yr. I was amazed.
he says, his employer applied for few of his other colleagues too, but rejected. most amazingly, for one of his boss (1 or 2 levels above him) also they applied under EB1 but his app was rejected. unbelievable stuff. i guess the EB1 verification is random.
EB1 spillover may never come for some time in the future. The Indian IT companies are applying under EB1 for their PMs and Senior PMs (req: BS in any discipline + 6-7 yrs exp), labeling them as multi-national executives. They are also making the employee pay for the 140 and 485 so that the financial impact is reduced a lot by a potential rejection of the 140.
This is as much BS as labor sub. I think everybody here knows how tough it is to get EB1 classification for researchers. But what scrutiny is there for these "multi-national executives" ? All they have to do is spend some time in India or any other country as a PM or SPM, come to the US on H1B and promptly apply under EB1. :mad:
