The U.S. House of Representatives concurred today with the Senate Amendment to H.R. 5116, America COMPETES Reauthorization Act of 2010 by a bipartisan vote of 228 to 130.
The bill aims to maintain national economic and scientific leadership by: supporting basic research; improving science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education; and fostering innovation, especially the development of new energy technologies.
Nothing much or anything significant....a broad high level to do things...like science and technology education to be improved...

I have received the following RFE.
Please submit the oldest available evidence which establishes your birth and parentage. This evidence may include, but is not limited to:
a. Hospital birth records which name the child and both parents.
b. Medical records which name the child and both parents.
c. School records which name the child and both parents.
d. Census records which name the child and both parents.
e. Religious records in the form of a certificate under the seal of the organization where the baptism, dedication, presentation or comparable rite occurred following the birth, showing the date and place of the child�s birth, the date of the religious ceremony, and the names of the child�s parents.
I have submitted Date of Birth Certificate at the time of applying 485 which is dated in 2002.
Ans:
I am planning to submit notarized affidavits from my father and mother.
SSC (10TH Certificate/Memo)
Are these enough? What are the other options ? Please let me know your valuable thoughts..

Hi,
My first 3 year of H-1 is about to expire in October 2009.
My employer is planning to apply for extension by premium processing in the next few weeks.
My question:
What if the H1 extension is rejected? Am I considered to be in legal status till October? I hope the original H1 is still in good position till October even though if my employer filing of extension is rejected.
Please help with your answers.

I had a lot of emotional and financial distress upon my graduation and I didn't get to apply for OPT. What do I do?
I mean I know I need to go speak with the dept that handles intl students in my school?
But, like, any pointers or information to please assist me?

If you graduated 1 year ago and was no longer a student in this last year, and did not apply for OPT before graduation, then you are already out of status - your F1 status ceased when you graduated. Moreover, your I-94 most likely said D/S. So the I-94 covered your stay only during the time you maintained F1 status. So you have been accruing illegal presence time. 6 month of illegal presence would trigger 3 year ban on reentering US; and 1 year or more would trigger a 10 year ban.
The prudent thing for you to do is to go back to your home country, and come back with a proper VISA.

This is a bit of a convoluted question, so I'll start at the beginning. In 2005 my husband(UK citizen, I'm a US citizen) was arrested for domestic violence. At that time, he had been overstaying his visa waiver for about 9 months, as we had been meaning to file his request for permanent residency, but had been lazy and put it off. Anyway, since he overstayed, USCIS took him to a detention center, where he stayed for about a month, and one day they just told him he was going home, they bought him a plane ticket, and sent him on his way. He never received any papers of any kind, all that happened was that his A-number was written in his passport. One of the agents told him he'd have a 3 year ban, another told him it would be 10 years. So, anyway, it's 4 1/2 years later, and we've started trying to find out when he could possibly re-enter, just to visit(we both live in the UK now, but still have family in the States). From what we read, we realized that maybe he wasn't actually technically deported. We called EIOR and found out that his A-number isn't in their system, so obviously he wasn't actually deported. The woman there said it sounds more like an expedited removal. We tried asking ICE what the length of his ban is, and they said we'd have to file a FOIA to find that out. So, until we do that, we're going with the working theory that it's a 5 year ban, since that seems to be what you get for expedited removals. Anyway, if it does turn out to be a 5 year ban, he'd be able to return in a few months, which would be awesome, but we're wondering what the chances of getting approved for a B-2 are. Also, assuming they let him visit, what are the chances of him ever getting a spouse visa, so we could one day move back to the US? Thanks!

It can be corrected. You employer need to change your base pay to 5500 from mar and it will get paid as regular salary. It should not have to be bonus. Don't worry talk to your employer and its a simple and common adjustment.

Shortly after class, an economics student approaches his economics professor and says,
"I don't understand this stimulus bill. Can you explain it to me?"
The professor replied, "I don't have any time to explain it at my office, but if you come over to my house on Saturday and help me with my weekend project, I'll be glad to explain it to you." The student agreed.
At the agreed-upon time, the student showed up at the professor's house. The professor stated that the weekend project involved his backyard pool.
They both went out back to the pool, and the professor handed the student a bucket. Demonstrating with his own bucket, the professor said, "First, go over to the deep end, and fill your bucket with as much water as you can." The student did as he was instructed.
The professor then continued, "Follow me over to the shallow end, and then dump all the water from your bucket into it." The student was naturally confused, but did as he was told.
The professor then explained they were going to do this many more times, and began walking back to the deep end of the pool.
The confused student asked, "Excuse me, but why are we doing this?"
The professor matter-of-factly stated that he was trying to make the shallow end much deeper.
The student didn't think the economics professor was serious, but figured that he would find out the real story soon enough.
However, after the 6th trip between the shallow end and the deep end, the student began to become worried that his economics professor had gone mad. The student finally replied, "All we're doing is wasting valuable time and effort on unproductive pursuits. Even worse, when this process is all over, everything will be at the same level it was before, so all you'll really have accomplished is the destruction of what could have been truly productive action!"
The professor put down his bucket and replied with a smile, "Congratulations. You now understand the stimulus bill."

You have some nice images, but I would think they are most of all interesting to the people whose faces you have photographed. It's not my taste, a bit gruesome, but it looks well done as far as I can judge it.
I second the suggestion to upload your critique images to dphoto, use your personal gallery. I think members of this site will be more inclined to write some comments here than at any other linked site.
