I thought immigration issues were the responsibility of federal govt. Can states pass immigration laws? Whether it is unauthorized aliens or otherwise?

There are ppl who moved 2 or 3 months after getting GC and have got their USC

I went through the entire thread, i did not find any cases of people who had never used AC 21 and who left their employers right after 485 approval.
To be very specific, we need clarification on what the consequences are of leaving the sponsoring employer right after getting the GC esp people who never used AC21 and have been with the sponsoring company for several years before getting the GC.

What is received date? What is delivered date? How come there are 6 days gap between those days? Even if you assume that the receiving guy took 6 days to lift his hand and receive, how come the received date is before the delivery date? So he received it even before it was delivered to him.

How can CA/ICWA be equivalent to MS programs as they are post high school courses? These courses do not require graduation for admission.

Until recently (2001), someone with a Bachelors degree could become a CPA since the requirement to take the exam was a certain number of credit hours roughly equivalent to that of a 4-year Bachelors degree. Anyway, I consider a CPA as a certification, not a degree. If USCIS has been accepting CA to be equivalent to a Masters degree, then it is quite generous of them.

When her both I140s were approved before the July/07 485 application, why didn't she use PD Porting at the time of applying 485 app in July/07. That is one of the easiest way to port PDs. It would have been straight forward and she may have received the GC by now. I know, lawyers can make one's GC Journey much more harder than it should be.
Nothing happens to your current "Adjustee" status if you interfile. But, I can understand the apprehension duw to either lack of information or plethora of wrong information present in the open.
As her EB2 PD is becoming current from Aug/08, she need not do anything now, maybe 4-5 months ago she should have done interfiling when EB2 started to come out of Unavailability. On Aug/1st, she can call USCIS and if they let her, open a Service Request on behalf of her case saying that her PD is current and her RD is July/07. If everything on her app is complete, she may get the approval in August only. Best of luck to you and her. May you guys get it soon too.

You are absolutely right. Dems are only worried about illegals. Its good that they are no longer a majority in the House. I think we have better option for any kind of piecemeal bills with republicans only.

I would urge you to change the title as most of your problems are due to your own decisions and not due to agency.
This may not be true. This is the problem being faced by many singles. Ofcourse those singles are postponing their plans just because of USCIS policies which in the case of singles is ridiculous. There is no meaning to make a person wait for 5-10 years to get one's spouse just because he applied for a Green Card. I see various kinds of visas for the spouses in other categories like H1 has H4
L1 has L2/L4 ( I dont know what that is)
and so on so forth..
but for a spouse of AOS? nothing.
All the crap of going on H1 are ridiculous. At the first place one has to get a sponsor for H1 and then there are all those issues out of being H1 with the employer and USCIS. There is no benefit of being on AOS. They cannot use EAD. They cannot start companies freely, etc because they are supposed to be on H1 or L1 etc.

those numbers.... 60% or 90% are all doctored...... and i'll look at the poll numbers only if both the following conditions are true -
1.) if i've no brain of my own to differentiate between right or wrong, so i must rely on the poll numbers to help me choose my position

I am a physician MD currently doing IM residency on H1B. i have a job to start from oct 2007. since PDS for india are now current, i would like to know if my employer can file PERM for a prospective employee now in june. my univerdity lawyer is not clear or rather not willing to file.

Not sure whether you got a chance to ask the officer about the reason for this visit? Was it a part of random check or any investigation on fund transfers or any other program etc?
Now, I think it is a random check and nothing like 'employer audit'. I never asked him -at that time I thought it was a part of background check.
I believe they are always doing these checks probability could be 1/100,000 although i have no idea at the frequency.

I guess since no one wants to do anything about their situation - we can all sit back and wait for another 4-5 years and hope that we get a green card at that time since that is the amount of time it is going to take most of us if nothing was to change in the current process.
