I have used my Canadian PR card for transit thru the UK while on AP. It was quite some time back though. The gate agent took a while to go thru my docs, but was satisfied and was allowed to board both ways. The verification obviously took a bit longer on the way back to the US, but nothing unusual. If I remember well, I did carry a copy of the transit rules with me in case there was any issue. My guess is you should be fine.

You folks can apply for a Canadian immigration for yourself. It would take atleast 6 months. While she can live on Canadian bording city such as Windsor, and you can work in Detroit, MI. Detroit and Windsor are about 2 miles from each other, and I know many ppl who live in Windsro and work in Detroit.

How can you file concurrent I-140 and I-485 if PD is not current, meaning country is retrogressed? You can't file I-485. You can file I-140 only and wait PD to become current to file I-485.
CP requires police certificates, therefore one needs to go back to home country in advance of interview to get it. I think it also needs police certificates from all place resided since age ?? (16 or 18??). All CP but not all AOS gets interviewed.
There is nothing to be scared of in the interview. If you are skilled immigrant from any country and your case is genuine, what are you scared of in the consular interview? Attorneys here will always ask you for I485, sure it helps most people than those filing CP , but there is also economic advantage to attorneys suggesting this option.
As I said, those from non retrogressed countries can file concurrently, also those countries such as India which are experiencing wide swings in visa bulletins are able to file concurrently. If I140 is NOT approved and date is current, it makes sense to file I485 as it gives you additional protections by law.

That's why I did a premium processing in June. I applied on June 15th in Premium and got it approved by 25th June, I got 3 years. That is correct, they approve H1B for 3 years based on the current Visa bulletin if you are extending Visa beyond 6 years.
But you can apply for 3 years when you are left with 6 months of currently approved Visa. Hope this clarifies your doubt.

I know the systems is so much screwed up. There are so many frustrated people with their priority dates EB2 before August 2004 and could not file I-485 until this July. Its a wonder USCIS approved a case with priorioty date of August 2005. :mad: :confused: the system is so disgusting.
Remember one and only one thing prevents FIFO (First in First Out) for I485 approvals and that is FBI name-check delays. I do not believe FIFO is not honored due to USCIS processing problems.
(BEC backlogs also inhibit GC FIFO but hopefully that will be over by Sep 2007)

Not true. They won't ask you anything. I would get my FP done. Then have your attorney write a letter to the USCIS explaining why you submitted two AOS applications, then asking them to keep any one "approvable" of the two AOS applications you submitted. This, I was told by an attorney during a private consultation call. Hope this helps. Best advice is, please consult an attorney:)

That is incorrect. USCIS would send a copy of RFE to you as well.
My wife got a medical RFE and I'm looking at the letter from USCIS as I type.
Yes, We did sign the lawyer form. Lawyer first got a copy and informed us. He also told us that we would be getting one. And we got one.
For me I never got a any communication directly from USCIS for the RFE.

I guess that's how much they value the American Dream, so let it be, I'll pay that price, no prob.
Fine by me if they do offer some SLA. That's always been missing. Thats what I exactly pointed out in my comment. If they were to return my money back if they do not meet their SLA, no one will have issues. or just have PP for almost everything and give equal importance to people who either value time or money.
