we are local representatives from immigration voice. We are doing meet the lawmakers drive in CA.
Yes, we will send a email to Mike Honda's office to stress on transparency about the blacklogs process in their letter to DOL.

Hi,
I will be applying for LC in a few days. So, I want to clarify something.
My ad says MS + 1 yr of experience.
Question 1: My 1 yr will be prior to my MS so can i use this experience ?
Question 2: If so Can I show that experience worked back in my country from my very close freind who runs a small software company ?
He is willing to give me any kind of experince letter and if USCSI calls ready to answer them.
But just wondering what will be the consequences of doing this. Obviously I can't show any paystubs or W2 forms for that 1 yr.

How about getting your face changed. That will probably be easier and faster than ask USCIS to fix it mistake. What a great organization!
I finally got my AP, 15 days after my EAD (100 days total) . I was happy to open the packet, until this......

People can only give mere advise, but you are the one who is going to take the final decision that is right for you.
The person who can answer some of your questions is nobody, but you.
IMO, the market is not as good as you think, and it�s going through the worst recession ever.
If not at your current job, you may have to take a pay cut at your future job, because that�s the current economic reality.
Since you have asked� I would suggest you to stay where you are and float your resume in the market and see the kind of response you get. I hope you will have a better idea then.

It is very clear. Child can charge to either parents chargeability. Parents cannot charge to child's country of birth.
Lawyers are not always correct. Check the law by ourselves. Only government can change the law. Not by any lawyers.
it seems clear - a child can claim either parents country chargeability. A spouse can claim a favorable country chargeability. I dont think it says that a parent can claim chargeability of childs birth country.

Normally in the job ad they specify if they need greencard holder or citizen. If they have not specified and you have job then it is all set. EAD is the document which establish your right to work. so they ask it when you join them. They will take photocopy of it. You need to update them when you renew your EAD.

Fellow IV members who have their GCs approved and some of those who are still waiting:
I have a few questions on how my brand new GC will help me in my situation..
My current project is ending 12/31 and I have about 20 PTO days left(yes, I get PTO from my desi employer)...Like many others I have signed a 'bond' with them that I will not leave them before july 2008.
Now after my current project is over, can they force me to use my PTO? or ask me to go on unpaid vacation even if I'm willing to work for them if they have work for me...
What if I get something on my own but my employer is not able to find work for me and pay me... Am I still bound by the contract I signed with them?

Mine shows no FP on file even though I did FP in Oct 07 ( less than 1 yr) That kinda worries me
Anyways PD is May 04 EB3 - so long way to go - and besides caring at this point when I see PD of 2006 getting GC

We recieved EADs 3 weeks back and I am planning to apply SSN for my wife and kid.
Can anyone let me know what documents are required to show up at SSN office while applying SSN.

You got an EAD for your kid? What is the minimum age for a kid to be eligible for an EAD?
The SSN card will contain a restriction saying "authorized for work only" which would mean the kid should have reached the min age for eligibility to work.

I read through the text below it briefly and did not find any more interesting info.
Found this strange that they are advertising the fact that 18 months remain while they do not seem to have completed even data entry in over a year as evidenced by the fact that several of us are still waiting on the 45 day letters.
I found this on the DOL's website above.

The foreign-born spouse should submit an application for adjustment of status which is an application for a green card. Items which may accompany the green card application include green card photographs, an application for employment authorization, an application for a travel permit and numerous other INS forms.

My husband is on H1B and I'm on Ead.....both of us have expired I-94 stamps.....we are planing to go to our home country this year...we want to apply for advance parole......my question is.....can we enter U.S both of us with AD?
I read on Uscis website that you need to have personal reason in order to go to your country while I-485 is pending....and you have to prove your personal reason.....is that true....we want only to visit our parents.

I am able to check my I-485 receipt date on uscis.gov. How can we know the notice date. As per my employer they sent it on July2nd and we know USCIS moved those dates again back and forth. When we are counting 180 days do we start counting from I-485 notice date or receipt date?
If my current employer agrees that I am moving to the new employer using my EAD and he don't object anything.. I heard if we use AC21 we may get RFE's for what is the current job description and all. Do I have to use AC21?
Check "Date received" field on the I-485 receipt notice. Do you have it? That's the date you should be using to count 180 days. Notice date does not really matter.
