You are not the only one. I have been waiting for my GC for 8 years now and it is nowhere in sight! I took the plan B (Canada) and became a PR there (it tookj just over a week, without the need for a job and without me leaving the USA, except to "land" there as the final step). Canada is not as bad as people may think. It looks just like the US, in many cases people are way nicer, multiculturalism is encouraged and enshrined in the Canadian constitution (as opposed to assimilation in the U.S.) and you have free healthcare and free social security for life, whether you are employed or not. Finally Canada has consistently ranked as one of the very top places to live worldwide (ranges from 1-5, it is 3rd this year, with U.S. in like #8) and there is so much to do there. Anyway, for a plan B, Canada is quite honestly pretty damn nice.
Trust me buddy - Canada is no heaven. If not USA, lets go back to our home-country - its way, way better. I have worked in Canada for a while (Montreal) and can tell you that it is no America. Not the standard of living, Not the technology, not the people, ofcourse not the weather :-) Just my 2 cents.

NY consulate is even worst than others. After a month of trying to reach them regarding my passport application, they told me they never received my application nor my passport. I had to sent them shipping tracking info and eventually they found my application sitting in a drawer. Never bother to opened it till than. I had to go through some higher level rank person to get my case resolved. The customer rep. phone is always busy, never able to get a hold.. I don't have to visit them for next 10 years,,,, thank GOD..

I still don't get it. There are around 300k AOS applications now pending. Given that there are only 10k EB based green cards for India, and I am sure there are more applications than 10k for FY2008 and still Visa bulletin for Oct indicates a date of Apr 2004. Should it not be "U" for the entire FY2008?

I don't understand about this fees.. I mean, you guys would have spent that money anyway. You may be loosing money for medical examination because it may expire. But the rest is something you would have done anyway.. I don't understand the logic of this thread..

I got nothing else to say besides that I concur with every word you said about highly skilled population. They get so caught up and satisfied with their small satisfactions, that they tend to ignore the bigger picture. At times, I think USCIS just fooled us and gave in July07 to shut us up. Yes the right work is shut all us up, like those small beggars who beg on the streets and you give them 2Rs to shut them up.

so you don't see a difference in how a private organization and a non-profit organization operates. Well here are some:
1. In your office, you are actually working for your boss and you are getting paid to do what they want you to do. I don't remember getting any pay check from IV. In fact, I have written several checks to IV. This doesn't mean I can post whatever I want but as long as I am following IV guidelines, I shouldn't get harassed by folks like you who think that their post is the only important post.
2. If you don't do what you are told at work, they'll fire your a&& and you wouldn’t know how to pay your bills next month. That's why the CEO or your boss don't have to send you a one liner before they take any decision.
As far as I know, IV is just a group of people coming together to address a problem which is shared by all members. I know that some people have worked harder than others and some people have contributed more than others but everyone has contributed one way or the other. So for you to come out and say that you are the only one doing all the work and others are just doing nothing and some how you are the CEO of this organization is just beyond my imagination. May be it's time you wake up and smell the coffee.

my qualification is 10 + 12 + 3 BSc Physics + 3 MCA. My LC clearly states that a Master's is required.
does this qualify for a US Master's? please note the fields are different.
My i-140 has been denied and waiting for notice...mostly it education and i filed under EB2 in TSC...
any input guys?????

You may be able lodge a complaint at your district attorneys office. you have to find your local DA's details. If you are from one of the coasts the chances of your DA's office having a section for immigration related complaints is high.
I agree. You should contact the office of the district attorney and ask for help prosecuting your employer for financial fraud. Also change your job immediately to avoid any further trouble.

Lets just say the announcement is that you can apply EAD/AP once your LC is cleared. Then just like usual USCIS will spend there time precocessing these new applicants and you will have to wait 1 yr just to get EAD/AP.
