I have money crunch in US. I have accumulated huge debt in my CC. In past I have sent some money to India, but now when I ask my parents to send it here, they tell it is not possible without losing 30%. This is what they heard from my bank. Any Idea on how to get money from India from my own account to which I have sent from here.
It's simple.. Find some one in your friend circle who wants to send money to india and tell him that you will transfer rupees to his bank account in india and ask him to transfer dollars to ur account here.
Simple.. that's how i did last time..

actually, lets make another category 3.c. people who have shifted jobs after ead using AC21 and now want to or already have started a company for side business (that may be in the labor/perm cert job description or outside)...
So, I am 3.c. and so is perhaps matreen... after digesting my conversation with the lawyer for two three days now, i am feeling that it might be worth taking the risk of doing a side business. after all, we are not doing anything that is uncivil or criminal... just trying to boost our incomes and perhaps contribute to an industry or something like that... that noble intention could be viewed as an exclusive intention in relation to the intention to continue permanent employment with the new GC sponsoring employer... what do you guys think?

Although you have used AC21, you are still working on a job that is as per the Labor Certification (if not, then you have bigger problems as AC21 can only be used for same/similar jobs). 3 c. *might* add a level of complexity for your case, but I think you should be fine. The reason I say this is that AC21s have a higher chances of RFEs especially if your previous employer revoked the I-140.
But again, we should cross the bridge when we get there and as long as we are doing something legal, we should be fine even though it might be a grey area. Being future entrepreneurs, we need to get accustomed to taking risks :)

Useful Information. Please let us know if you indeed got the copy of your 140 from USCIS.

I received my EAD last month. But no AP yet. However, i received an email from my lawyer today that.....my AP got rejected. The rejection letter is saying that I485 got approved that's why the I131 is rejected.....therefore, my lawyer is waiting for the I485 approval.....but my lawyer told me that I can expect my card soon.
I don't know how to react. The online doesn't have any update about the I485 status yet. They received my application on July 2, 2007.

How does a lawyer know if u r stuck in namecheck? Unless you go to infopass you may not know.
In reality, the app was just taken up for processing - the IO figured that FP has not yet been done and sent notice and during the course of processing the app, decided to send it for interview.
Perhaps u r right. Lawyer might have just made up that story to get him off his back. The guy was pretty annoyed at not getting FP notice. He went for infopass twice and all they did was sent a FP request to CIS (told him they were doing that) but nothing happened.

These ppl are talking about giving amnesty to ILLEGALS...let me repeat it.. amnesty=award for being ILLEGAL. They have done that before and all of a sudden we F'KIN LEGAL TEMP WORKERS from India/China have to worry about the LEGAL aspect of filing a law-suit.

Ofcourse not, but why hell do they create a dual intent H1FU?K Visa where they show you the carrot and create a indentured servant system and discriminate on the basis of the country of your birth. I completely agree “eb3retro” in working with AILA.org in helping us get our message across. 1) You have NO idea what it was like to find a lobbyist ready to work with us given a) We are dealing with a very sensitive issue b) We had only 10K in cash (5K raised by core members) and another 10K promised again by the core team. Do a real exercise and get a lobbyist to sign a contract with you for after revealing to them that you have only 20K. Try it now with even 50K and see how many lobbyists are ready to tow your line
2) Regarding your talk of Erin Brockovich and all, you do not even seem to grasp the fact that AILA is interested in the 11 million undocument workers. 500,000 skilled workers are nothing but a drop in the ocean compared to them.
In any case, have you done your part in contacting AILA? We have! Its easy to sit on the fence and complain but it takes conviction to actually DO something
3) Do you have any idea how difficult the task is to get amendments in? Do you know how much a fine balance the Republicans and Democrats achieved and are not ready to take on anything that might disturb the balance? Also do not forget that 500K people is not even 1% of the US population but 11 Million illegal immigrants make a sizeable chunk and alsong with Hispanics make more than 13% of the population. Now given this, who would you as a politician try to appease? 13% of the population or 0.1% of it?

I think there is a need to educate politicians that the problem is not H1B but GC backlogs. As per USCIS only 7100 H1B's have been utilized so far for FY 2012. There is one major difference why companies want to do business with consulting firms rather than individuals as the perception is when doing business with a firm as opposed to individual you deal with so many people (not just one) who share the responsibilities. If for some reason things don't work with the consultant the company can request the consulting firm to provide substitute so on so forth.
Also firms are perceived financially Strong, can afford $3M+ insurance (just in case something goes wrong) while individual may not be in similar position

I agree that the current political climate is so screwed up that, they are not doing anything except in a reactionary way. Part of it is a lack of visionary leadership, "W" has hardly been able to unite the country behind much legislation. The Congressmen have been too entrenched in political gamesmanship and more interested in political survival than the broader national interest. Nothing illustrated this more than the recent bailout legislation. Noone liked it but clearly there was no other option either. The lack of conviction in the way congress approached it however means, they spent 840 billion (instead of 700) and even that seems too little too late. And it might even end up being the first of many more bailouts. Sometimes you indeed can be too late to help out and drag it out more than necessary. Much is all about perception and confidence. Finally, vocal special interests who have selfishness and ideology at heart have no doubt contributed to this toxic mess, and elected officials seem less and less able to divorce themselves of their undue influence (it was not always that way in this country).
The one saving grace is that an election is in the offing. Honestly it will be a breath of fresh air, no matter who is elected. Someone can then project some leadership and actually get something done. This last 4 yr term has been especially useless in terms of getting anything at all done, not just on the immigration front but any front at all.

If I read you correctly, and if someone from IV does appear before congress, we should expect BEC mess/failure (PBEC in particular) also being brought to the attention of the lawmakers, not just the retrogression. Correct?

US economy is designed this way, everyone will get their own share. No one bothers about optimizing the chain and reducing the cost. If they do that whole economy will collapse. If people started sticking to one marriage and stop taking the divorces, these lawyers will not have work and that portion of economy will collapse. If you have time please watch this video
