Whilst I realise nobody 'knows' at the minute, does anyone know when XCode required Snow Leopard from? Was it from Snow Leopard's release, or simply when Xcode 4 came into existance?
Xcode 3.2 was released with Mac OS X v10.6 "Snow Leopard" and will not install on any earlier version of Mac OS X.
XCode 4.1 is in beta right now and requires Lion. Presumably it will be required for iOS 5 development too.
You better start planning on getting a Core 2 Duo or later MacBook.

I too have been using Mactubes, and it works better than the in-browser flash player, but I can't seem to get quicktime to work.
"Can not open video. Please open URL with browser."
That's the error that I get when I switch to Quicktime. Any ideas?

Ok, as of today there are no iPod minis at Circuit City or Sharper Image (at least here in Phoenix anyway) and I had found one on PowerMax's website, but they were already sold out of them before I could order one. I had started a deal with another member here, but his unit needed the battery replaced and couldn't have it done and sent to me before next Thursday (that's when I need it). So that said, is there anyone else here who would like to sell me their iPod mini (any color)? If there are any takers, I can send you money via PayPal today if you can ship it today or tomorrow.

Yes, I recently had an issue where I deleted a partition off my hard drive and was able to get everything back off of it even though it was labeled as "free space." I would highly recommend Data Rescue 3. It might even be able to repair your drive even though disk utility couldn't.

Looks great. Remember who you are showing it to. While I liked the music, I could absolutely see how it could turn off some Agency people. Tone it down.
I have to disagree i don't think its too invasive and works very well with the tone of the imagery.... i have seen reels with alot worse choices in music... my own is a prime example... :D
Also you can see that the reel has been cut using the track at certain parts... so changing it would require re-editing the whole sequence.

So would it be accurate to say that if the CD-ROM was authored with Flash as an executable then it would be harder to extract individual assets (i.e., videos, images & PDFs)? But then again, what would prevent the infringer from just copying over the whole disc? Right?

My 3G S iPhone died and I ended up replacing it with the iPhone 4.
When I was at the Apple Store the sales person brought up the two current AT&T iPhone data plans--my $30 unlimited iPhone Data plan was the other option.
The salesperson asked me if I wanted to change my data plan or if I wanted to continue with the unlimited plan.
I continued with my unlimited plan. I was also worried that they would have downgrade me to one of the capped iPhone data plans-glad that wasn't the case.

What is blank screen mode? I don't run mine in screensaver mode, I turn it on and set my computer to stay on and just shut off my monitor.

Yes, they are all the same size but the amount of processing required to complete the task differs from unit to unit.
My G5 did a work unit in 45 mins one time. On average it takes less than 2 hours / unit :D. The command line app would be even faster.
I don't run it any more as it apparently rips hard drives and I couldn't be bothered setting up the RAM disk method. It also turns my G5 into a bit of a wind tunnel some times.

I'm in the same boat - the nearest Apple Store is over an hour away. Luckily we have two stores near here - Mactown and MacDepot. You don't even have to call Apple first - you can just take it in. A friend of mine near here had her power adapter fry her Macsafe board inside her Macbook. Took it to Mactown, and the next day the board and the adapter were both replaced no charge. Saw the repair invoice that they were billing Apple for and it was over $600. Definitely paid off. :D

To be honest, I hate Pitchfork - they only seem to value indie music. While I love Arcade Fire and Stars, I do like to listen to slightly more mainstream music too.
It almost seems like Pitchfork will automatically rate an album between 4.8 and 6 if it's by a rock artist. I guess it's their opinion, but I'd like to see positive reviews of other music every once in a while.

It takes 578mhz to do one w/u a day. Therefore that would mean an 867mhz would do 1.5 a day (accurate, thats what my PB does) and a 266mhz would do one every 2.1 days, also accurate. Someone compare my equation to their computer. All you do is take your CPU speed and divide it by 578. It *should* give you roughly the w/u you complete in one day.
First off, every work unit is different. Second did you take into account that if SETI runs in Blank screen mode it runs WUs faster? Of course not. I run a B/W G3/300 in blank screen mode and can complete a WU in 20-22 hrs. I have stated before that in Blank screen mode WUs can be crunched much faster than screensaver mode. I figure my WU times by looking at the percentage of WU completion per hour. 300MHz = roughly 5% per hour. 450/466 MHz = roughly 7.5% per hour. 1.25GHz = 16% per hour. Take your 100 and divide by the average completion per hour---100/7.5=13.33hrs.
