I wonder what our children and grandchildren will learn from all these. When they grow up and know that their parents had to go through this mess while waiting to be accepted legally for xxxx number of years and some people got the "grand reward" of being illegal for many years!! These CIRcus operators will be responsible for the loss of "very little" moral left in this country. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Man this sucks. I have been here for 6 years, got my Bachelors here, and now finishing my Masters. And now what awaits me is a damn lucky draw.
I seriously hope that the new bill gets approved, even if they don't approve the suggested 130K H1B quota, at least they should pass the clause of banning consultants from filing for H1B. The new bill suggests that only employers should be allowed to file for H1B and not third party consultants.

Guys I beg all of you to who have not voted to please vote. It might seem irrelevant or not useful to vote but even small things like these add up. We have threads like spelling bee going into multiple pages but not threads relevant and useful to us. Please vote not just for this but also have an open mind and participate in all activites. There is a thread where you can send a letter to whitehouse explaining our misery and asking for removal of country quota and visa recaprure, how many of you have sent the letter. Please do that .

follow thru my posts , i recently came back from india with AP and no transit visa thru germany
Anybody Travelled with only Advance Payrole through Frankfurt recently please post ?
where they will check for transit visa in usa while boarding or in frankfurt or in india while return ?
My nationality is Indian. Presently i am residing in USA . I have " Advance Payrole Document " . I am planning to travel in this February 2011 from " Atlanta -> Frankfurt -> India(Hyderabad) " and return is in May 2011 from " India(Hyderabad) -> Frankfurt -> Atlanta " in lufthansa airways.
So shall i go for this round trip with a valid " Advance Payrole Document " only ? or i need to have " Air Transit Visa ? If i need Air transit Visa could you please let me know how to apply and what documents i need to submit .

And this willwin guy has the nerve to give me a red mark on my post saying I'm not being diplomatic... like I care about being diplomatic when they want IV to shift its primary focus in order to cater to such ridiculous asks!! If I wanted to be diplomatic, I'd have come here on foreign service. :rolleyes:

From my infopass appt. this morning, I learned that my NC is clear, and I should wait until Aug 26th for a status update.

Its a small good news. I got similar status update last year sometime in Aug/Sept before my I-485 was finally approved around end of Sept '08. My case was originally filed at CSC and then was transferred to NSC. I got this message when NSC finally picked up my transferred case, dusted it off and (I'm guessing) input it in their system. Most likely your cases went the similar route and now they have been finally picked up by the destination center for processing.

I am trying to keep track of 2004 cases. I think USCIS is not doing fair justice by not giving preference to 2004 cases. Please post your priority date, I-140 approval dates(if approved), I-485 received dates, Name check cleared date(if cleared), finger print cleared date(if you gave finger prints and they got cleared)

I-140 Approval Date :05/03/2007
I-485 Received Date : 07/26/2007
Name Check Cleared.
Gave Finger Prints.

you can directly go to USCIS website and take printout of your approved I-140.
It will not have all informaion but more then enough to change job .
AFAIK , you can only see the text that the said 140 is approved. Did you mean actual copy of the approval ? Some thing that looks like a real approval letter , a scanned copy ?

I left my previous employer more than 6 months back , he didnt paid me my final paycheck and i complained to DOL since 3 months...now wehn i asked for my W2 he said me to do whatever i feel and he is adamant at not giving it....moreover he said that his company has suffered losses worth 25K and his lawyer has sent a legal notice in this regard....and when i said how will we file taxes he says he wished for me to be out of status and go back.....
Since i have complained to DOL and also it is more than 6 moths since i left his organisation giving proper notice and have email confirmations, can he issue me legeal notice.....?please advice...
He is also saying that he has written to USCIS that I am fraud,....though I have been working in fortune 100 companies and now also working in reputed company and never lied for anything and was on project from day 1 since I came to States....? can USCIS cause problems for me in future...
Also, he seems to have closed his company..
Folks please advice....
