I am new to IV. I am just wondering whether we have ever emphasized on bifurcation of Immigration Bill or call for a interim law to facilitate legal immigrant's issues ( mainly retro victims) -
Our problems are very basic and do not have sociopolitical or economical strings attached to it (Probably works better for economy as lot of us are holding on to buy houses and other big budget stuff).
The main issue I have is
- Unable to change jobs
I can wait for GC but not being able to change jobs is hurting me most.
Employers do not find projects and do not pay on bench. Once you find a project Employer wants a big cut. All in the name of policy ;) .
Please share your thoughts.

Let the flowers reach them; let the suitors file the suit. But don't you think we should start a 'Seek information' campaign. Each of us write letters and faxes to DOS and USCIS and request them for this.
In May'07 the DOS moved forward the visa dates by 2 years for almost all categories. Now since USCIS have already receipted (or will soon do it) all the June applications, they should be in a position to release the information on how many applications they received for each category and for each country. We will request both the agencies to work together and release some kind of statistics some predictions like what they expect for Sept visa bulletin and further. We are living in dark and information like this will give us some insight and will let us plan our careers.

i submitted my 485 one month ago but still haven't got receipt. I just got a new job offer from a big company, which i really dont want to reject. if i transfer my h1b now, will be 485 get rejected immediately? or my h1b transfer will be rejected? thanks for your advice!

My confusion is, as soon as I enter on AP I am on EAD and I don't have approved EAD. Does this mean I can not work untill I get EAD approved? I don't have Visa Stamped and I am not planning for Visa Stamping.
you can still continue on H1B (same employer) as long it is validity..even when you use AP at POE..

during our meeting with the lobbyists in Washington D.C. one thing stood clear. We have to get our employers in the big picture and we need to meet the lawmakers. For this we are going to start this effort �Meet the lawmakers�. The material and corresponding will eventually come from the Lobbying firm. But in the mean time we need to build the team. Immigrationvoice Board of directors has given me the responsibility to build this specific team. One of my friends travelled in the same situations. No questions asked at port of entry(Chicago). He was little worried like you and was short of time to get the visa stamped but it went fine.

Hi,
Can someone please help me below question
I got my finger prints and Advance Payrol receipt numbers from USCIS but not I765(EAD). I called USCIS about EAD receipt nbr but they said "System not yet generated I-765 receipt nbr". My attorny and employer not responding abt EAD receipt numbers and someware I have doubt they did not fill my EAD's as they know after getting EAD i can work for other employer which is 6 months from receipt date. Is their anyway I can track whether they filled my EAD form or not?
Also please advise is thier any alternative way I can fill EAD's.
Please help.

It is not necessary that one should remain in the US to apply for EAD renewal.

Never give childcare as a reason. INS treats this as employment for parents. But religious ceremony for child may work. For medical stuff, I'd say that you need to show that either they cant travel or they are under some treatment here. For both the reasons, you need a US doc to write a letter. The best reasons are travelling to different places in the US.

Changing your address using AR-11 does not affect any existing petition. To change your address on any outstanding application you need to call the USCIS customer service number. So relax, this has no effect on your application.

Mine rejected case has status "OTHER REASONS" and receipt number is voidand it starts with "MSC". I did not receive package back yet.

My H1B was expired on DEC11,2009.My employer applied H1B extension in Oct 2009, i'm still waiting for Approval notice. since my I-94 expired on DEC11,2009. what is my status untill i get my H1b extension? will i be in leagal status until i get the H1 approval?
I have EAD with the same employer but not using.
Is anybody in the same situation?
