I know this is easier said than done but I think for most part I have moved on .I have not got my GC yet (PD Nov 2003 EB3 -India) but allow me to chime in .
Actually I had little interest in pursuing GC to begin with(Mistake). Could have started earlier than I actually did and was lucky to breeze thru Labour and 140 stages(< 6 months) and did not follow I-485 progress till June -1 st 2007
Then suddenly in next 4-5 months browsed every info /problems/issues with GC. Made 3 info pass appointments(Name Check cleared), initiated 2 separate inquiries one thru OMBUDSMAN. must have called USCIS about 10 times and checked the online status atleast 3 times a day . Pedantic. Mostly because my application was pre-approved and lot applications around my PD's were approved and I thought I was really close . Alas, that was not to be . I was pretty dissapointed for a few months.
However in the last 6 months I have moved on mentally, I browse IV and consider other options like switching to Eb2 but gone are those pedantic days followed by huge disappointments.

If your case is filed by lawyer, then your lawyer will also receive a copy of your FP Notices. So you may want to contact your lawyer and see if he got it?
Yes. I did check with my lawyer. She didn't receive yet. :confused:

Tired of waiting ( PD: August 2001) I finally wrote to both my local congressman and Senator today. My senator is on senate Immigration commitee so lets see what happens. Hopefully something will move.
If this doesnt help I will try Ombudsman next after couple of months. The Ombudsman form has a question of if you have tried through Congressman etc first so we can try and see that.
Guys its so funny when you see ppl with PD of 2003 and 2005 complaining and bitching. Here we have waited 7 + yrs our PD's are current and we are doing OK. Wait sure brings maturity :)

I know after we file the i-485 for 180 days, we can change our jobs. But rule is that the new job should be in the same field as the old one.
Can i change my job from a biological researcher to a biostatistician? My current job is in the field of biology, which involves lots of experiments. If I change my job to a biostatistician, which is like a programmer, do i still qualify the "similar filed" rule? thanks for your help!

Final Q, how long it took from day1 of EB2 filing to filing I140 this week ?
My PERM was filed on 30th March, approved on Aug 11th, received approval copy on 18th Aug, and I-140 to be filed this week.
There was a lot of prep work involved before filing PERM in March. My employer agreed to start the process in Oct'09 and the lawyers started the ads in early Jan.

I am planning to take up Java developer position with new employer using EAD. is it ok? Lawyer has been saying that the job description has to match 100%. I dont agree with him. any comments please?.

If I file AC-21 Memo to USCIS and I got laid off from my previous job 14 days prior to 180days and started the new job 14 days prior to 180days and the petitioner employer will not revoke I-140, will that cause any issue?

Has anyone thought of the people who missed the august 17 deadline because the labor was not cleared within time. Because of no mistake from ourside, we have to suffer. What a screwed up legal situation ?
As of now PD is apr 2001, I dont know when will it move ?

EAD/AP by CSC.
any idea on what are the processing dates for EAD and AP at CSC
and also finger printing timelines
Reading the forum I understand that EAD/AP approvals are coming fast from CSC.
I have not seen anyone posting about receiving finger Print notice if the case has been tansferred back to NSC from CSC.
This is the trend I have seen so far.
Anyone who has received FP notice if ur case has transferred from NSC to CSC and back to NSC - Please post.
