if you take your h1 renewal reciept they are suppose to give an interim date. I had the same problem in Columbus, OH.
H1 expired awaiting h1 renewal for 3 years (as I40 approved). First they denied. then i politley asked the DMV guy if he could drop me and pick me up and my wife from work everyday.
he asked me to get the renewal notice, letter from employee and intent to work further with the employee.
they gave me a 6 months dirvers licence.
and believe me, i dont think DMV guys know any happenings that impacts h1 guys. its the citizen law or illegal immigrant law and we get caught in the cross fire.
next time give them the immigrationvoice.ORG URL and ask them to educate themselves.

Looking at the Labor cert , it says "Masters degree" and NOT "Masters or equivalent". that might be the caused the I140 denial .
Any one had this situation before ?

Spoke with Amit at USINPAC. Looks like the dude doesn't know any thing and might be a summer intern and Mr Robinder Sachdev is in India right now, I asked for his contact info and he doesnt have it right now. He is trying to get his contact information and also escalating with his higher ups. He said that he is receiving a lot of calls from IV members. Dont fire up on this guy. He is just taking calls. I told him that its unfair to grab/steal credit with out mentioning the source and also pointed out how IV has been renamed to Emigration Voice in the original story.
IV should have a own press release refuting their claims, if we do not hear from them in a day or two. That way we can expose them right away and stop them from doing so again in the future. Other wise, this might become a common thing for them

The discussion is what we should do to act on these issues. IV core has been (I assume) assembling data for some time now to have valid numbers for some action items. Let's get on with the action items now and see where they take us. If that is deemed unsuccessful then we go for the next. We keep trying. That should be the motto. My 2 cents.

Is there any thing to do with I-140approved/pending with I-485/ead/ap processing?

when a person applied his GC process 2002 EB3 with 3 years experience per say, another person 2004 EB2 with 5 years experience. How come EB2 guys is smarter then EB2. By the way lot of people in those days who applied under EB3 are well qualified and well educated. In my experience most of them are doing jobs that will easily comes under EB2.

Hey, I'm about as Anglo Saxon as you get, and I wish all Hindus here and their families a happy Diwali. I also sent a Diwali card to a friend earlier this week.
Just a matter of respect for others and their cultures.
There is a point that we are viewed (incorrectly) as an Indian group.
However, let's not ban Diwali, or Christmas, or any other celebrations.
I don't think it is very popular when ACLU sues local governments that put up certain Christmas decorations.

I am shocked too. 2 members who I called on phone were abusive. They started blaming Aman Kapoor saying that he is rubbing his idealogies over already stressed immigrants - this was ridiculous and I am so sad that people have such thoughts.
If people are scared or want to live in Shadows why abuse IV who are truly committed for a cause???? These are the same people writing rubbish on those threads that ran 200 pages when they were waiting for USCIS announcement.

I received my EAD last month. But no AP yet. However, i received an email from my lawyer today that.....my AP got rejected. The rejection letter is saying that I485 got approved that's why the I131 is rejected.....therefore, my lawyer is waiting for the I485 approval.....but my lawyer told me that I can expect my card soon.
I don't know how to react. The online doesn't have any update about the I485 status yet. They received my application on July 2, 2007.

Good point , but neither H1B says its only for INNOVATORS rather it says only SKILLED workers. Not even every PhD is innovator . May be in some circumstances the so said perspective is true but i dont agree with every point.
There are no enough Americans who can do the Job if you guys think its H1B and remove H1B every Job will land as an outsourcing . If not h1B many Outsourcing IT firms will find some way to temp bring IT pros and eventually outsource.
The Key point that IV is making is how much taxes we are paying and how good we are making to American economy. If they remove H1B ,then they understand how and what they have lost.

Eb2 have never moved beyond may 2004.. so until it goes past that.. these movements are not really worth anything.. it has to overcome that resistance.. then maybe 2005 will be a reality

I know many of us are frustrated because of EAD delay. I am one of them and today I called up USCIS.
Here is the sequence.
1) 1 800 375 5283
2) 1,2,2,6,1 receipt notice# 1,3,4
3) you will have to wait for 10 to 15 minutes and one of the officer will come online for you.
4) at least they will give you information about your case ( mine is sent to some storage and they had to issue an expedite request to get it processed again. I am july 2 filer with notice dat of sept 8,2007 3 infopass apointments, 1 SR). the officer has access to look at the file and can give you appropriate information( they are not like regular service agents who will read what you see on USCIS.gov).
5) as of now they told me that I will information from USCIS in 2 weeks.
