I diagree with you. If you get your GC, you plan to buy a home here and try to settle here. so in my words if you get GC then no more remittances.
People on H1 they are not sure whether to buy a home or assets here, what if the case i need to go back due to my visa etc.

Otherwise, our talks will never get noticed.

Think collectively and do something big.

I think you have already decided to send flowers to make more impact change the message from "Get well soon" which I don't think anybody is going to get, send something "You have screwed my life, I hope you have a good day".

My status on CRIS has changed. No emails. Its says my approval has been sent. But nothing about the card. I spoke to the CS and they said my biometrics have to be uploaded. In the mean time can I get my passport stamped?
One of my friend was in your situation. He got the I797 stating that 485 was approved. He took infopass and got the passport stamped. Hope this helps.

Return to their country like nothing happened? What about the primary applicant's present job?
Just live here in the USA, as if nothing happened? What happens to the family if they go out of status all of a sudden?
There is no need to make the GC your only goal in life, but please don't be insensitive... there is much more to the issue than meets the eye!
Let me answer that. I am from Fiji but I was born in India so I am stuck with rest of you and for my family going back is not an option. Fiji is very hostile to indians living there so for us it's here or nowhere. May be india is an option but we have very few distant relatives in India as both of our parents has passed away.
Though it is a big shock for me and my family, I have to get over it and think about their survival after me.
My apologies if I have given the impression as GC greedy but I can understand how difficult it is for someone to understand how is life without something you can call a "Home"

While your story is interesting, but I beg to differ again, because, immigration is not something which would be discussed in the Congress for the first time, if we are successfull in bringing something. Each and every single lawmaker in this country understand immigration to the extent that you may not even start to guess...People who oppose us have been putting their restrictive bills again and again so they are going to continue doing that despite of us do something or sleep, do you think Numbersusa wait for us to do something, their anti.... mill will keep churning.

You are missing the point here again and taking whatever I said out of context!
Read the OP's issue again. She never said that she did not understand the laws fully. In fact both her and her desi consulting company know the immigration laws too well and have found loopholes to take advantage of it, which is morally wrong. Now tell me if it is wrong when I say this; If you know you are going out of status because you do not have a job, and you still do not change your status back to H4 in the hopes that you'll eventually land a job, then you have no right to stay in this country.
Please refrain from bringing in the refugees, their struggle and hardships and try to dilute what I have been saying in this entire thread!

We are simple human beings and most of the time we do not fully understand the law. Yes, it does not give us the authority to break the law, however, there are times when you become "out of status" by just sitting at home. There are times when you become victim of situation. I have 1000s of refugees in my city who flee Yugoslavia/Bosnia during ethnic cleansing/genocide of 1990s. US working with UN gave them refugee status and most of them have green cards now. Some of them lost sons, some of them lost fathers and they all have stories to tell. Do I go there with my MS/BS degree and tell them that I was in the line before and I should have gotten the GC before them? No! Do I curse the system for that? No! When countries fall apart and when morality/humanity hits the rock bottom, rules, status go right out of the window.
Please do not be so harsh on forums.
I do not have anything personal against you but there are times when you are very harsh on individuals and that changes the whole course of discussion.

at some month before OCT 2007 the dates would become unavailable.
what would happen at that time?
say your case was received by USCIS and they have not issued FP notices.
what if they issued FP notices but not issued EAD and/or AP.
would they still issue an EAD and AP even if your dates are not current(obviously the case was received by them and they issued you a case number)
any ideas?
In that case people with PD 2002 2003 whould have not got EAD's or renewals.. it won't affect the people who filed.

Democrats: They support immigration in general. But their sympathies lie with low-skills, low-wage workers who mostly enter illegally.
Republicans: They oppose immigration in general, ESPECIALLY the illegal variety. However, they overwhelmingly support hi-tech immigration(and hi-tech immigration is mostly legal, I havent met a scientist or a Java programmer working illegally :) ) because of their close relationship to businesses and their pro-business attitude in general.

got my receipts today.
Case Details:
i-485/EAD/AP sent on 7/25 and reached NSC on 7/26 for my self and my wife.
i-140 still pending at NSC.
Got the receipts for all 6 cases from lawyer today.
i-485 for me and my wife got transfered to TSC and pending.
Case status shows Received on 7/26 and EAD approved for me and my wife from TSC on 09/26.
AP pending in TSC.

I understand the momentum here....not trying to rain on a parade or anything...but shouldnt we be a little practical. How long is litigation going to take? Wont only naive lawyers even take this up?
USCIS can always pull the security reason trump card here.
moreover, during the last quarter...in the effort to not waste visas, low hanging easy to approve cases with later priority dates have gotten approved. wudnt u rather have that than visas going waste?
We have been patient for a very long time....lets see how the dates move in the 1st 2 quarters of fiscal 09.
My personal suggestion....stop worrying aout GC...there are much bigger things in life to worry about. :)

I am bringing these out not because I am opposed to equal treatment of folks on H1/ EAD etc - but because there are legitimate arguments both ways and unless we can prove unequivocally that there is gross miscarriage of justice in denying us this right and on the other hand - there is no disadvantage caused to anybody else by granting us this right - this idea is unlikely to see the light of the day
while i am happy to be proven wrong - i do not see anyone in this forum having a stomach for a protracted legal battle starting with lower courts and going all the way to Supreme Court - going back to my previous point - we do not see this as a "larger than me" cause
Incorrect words used by me, I did not mean that supreme court gave authority, but that supreme court did not find that discrimination based on country of origin for immigrants violates the basic tenents of this countries constitution.
I am not saying that this is a case on employers. If at all it would be a case against the discriminatory laws of the congress which allow someone to stay indefinitely but, do not allow them to work.
If a case like this is filed, I do not think, I do not see it going to be a proteacted battle. If enough coverage is given, the lawmakers might sit down and fix the problem or atleast have a quick temporary fix. Maybe even lawmakers might not be needed, just the DOJ would might update the rules (which it is allowed in case it determines that the laws are conflicting). Most important of all, this will bring the issues on the front from being a laggard.

It is really sad to hear that. I am no expert by any means but assuming that you are still a young family (say in mid thirties), I would suggest that unless your family is financially secure and have other family members here in the USA to lean on, I will suggest to at least consider the option of going back, irrespective of what the outcome of you green card process may be.

Most likely the check was deposited earlier, but his/her bank statement had a delay in updating. Sometimes, when the amount in the check is large, it goes through a review process by banks and so your bank statement will not update for a few days after the check was actually deposited.
