Since 2004 EB2 is cleared, I am seeing less number of posts being made on IV.Yay I became a senior member, will that mean I will get a green card?
Dude not all 2004's got cleared..i am still waiting for approval and many more like me are still out there waiting to get greened..dont know when we will be approved..hopeing to get next month..:mad:

Btw, who told you that guys like punjabi and others overbid or bought a house that they cannot afford? They could and still can afford these houses i.e. the monthly mortgage payments; the only thing they cannot do in the current market is to sell it (even at the price at which they bough i.e. break even) and that is why they are stuck with it if/when they decide to move to another city/job - so no point blaming these guys. If you want to blame somebody, blame the banks who appraised the same house at 500k 2 years back which they are appraising at 400k today, there in lies the problem.
People like you and boreal are doing much better because you decided that a 2 bed room house for rent is what you can afford because the prices shot up by guys like punjabi who wanted to make money and overbid on an house they cannot afford. Otherwise guys like you and many others would have bought house at a resonable price.

I am july 3rd filer, still waiting for receipt. In your e-mail you said there was LUD on your I-140 date 07/28. What it means...did you file I-140 and I-485 together? is there any connection in getting receipt of I-485 and LUD on I-140, just curious becasue I am also seeing LUD of 07/28 on my I-140 but my I-140 got approved in 2006.

I got 3 negs.. not that I care about the reputation system here... but it shows people are unwilling to confront me openly, and choose to hide even though this forum is already anonymous.
One neg says:
"old system - like we're going to let that happen. interfile if you can."
Why should I interfile? I am putting my energies into getting USCIS to follow the rules. It is the right thing to do, just because I am willing to wait for my turn, doesn't mean I will cede my position in the queue.
Also, I am trying to take recourse from the written laws, there is nothing that anyone can do (barring USCIS' own impediment to follow the law) to not "let that happen".

The publicity stunt follows lobbying efforts and lawsuits protesting a sudden change in the rules that govern employer-sponsored immigrants. After rushing to submit green-card applications by July 2, the immigrants were told at the last minute to keep waiting.
Notes being delivered to Emilio Gonzalez, head of USCIS, along with the bouquets skip over the pleasantries and speak directly to the bureaucracy.
"Kindly do not return our I-485 petitions in July," the messages say, "and honor the original DOS visa bulletin."
The dispute concerns a U.S. Department of State bulletin from mid-June, dictating who could apply for an immigrant visa. The application is the final hurdle in getting a green card, or permanent residency. Because of a backlog, immigrants spend years waiting their turn, but the unusual June bulletin gave most job-based immigrants the go-ahead to apply.
Jakub Gorecki, who lives in Spring Valley, hurried to get his paperwork together in time. The thick packet of documents - medical exams, vaccination records, a birth certificate from Poland, a $325 application fee - was to arrive July 2 at USCIS, he said.
But that morning, a new bulletin came out, canceling the offer. No applications would be accepted until the new fiscal year in October.
The reversal sent Gorecki and others back to a limbo state.

It was just a minor adjustment to make room for expenses towards advocacy day.
Those who came to the advocacy event on April 4th,5th, like me, and saw the amount of money and efforts that go into reserving a conference room in a hotel next to the Capitol Hill for 4 days, printing out thousands of documents, inviting staffers/congressmen for meetings, arranging an elaborate reception for them, preparing advocacy packets for close to 400 meetings etc etc. I am amazed how IV is even able to afford the expenditures with the relatively small number donors that it has.
Kudos to IV-Core and the volunteers.

Damn this sucking life man, no social life, no career life, no nothing life. Even animals must be living a better and meaningful life. It sucks big time, did it ever happen in history that uscis revised a visa bulletin on the day it is supposed to go into effect ....

This brings back old memories back in early 2006. I had brought this point up and actually even written to the White House (and got the generic response back). Unfortunately back then we were a much smaller organization and not as well recognized and not as knowledgeble and as organized as now.

If you have evidence of a specific I-485 case that you feel was erroneously denied due to USCIS not adhering to AC21 guidelines, we kindly ask that you please forward us a copy of your denial notice or provide further detail as to the reasons for the immediate denial.
Please submit information via email to cisombudsman@dhs.gov with the subject AC21 Evidence of Immediate Denial. In addition, for protection of privacy we ask that you please omit any personally identifiable information such as names, a-numbers, case numbers, etc.

I sent emails to Ombudsman, NSC and SCO. Did not contact congressman. Opned SR's for me and my wife. Twice took Infopass, they have been pre-adjudicated, that's all.
All I got till now from USCIS is standard scripted emails.

Just talked to a recruiter from a software giant.
She specifically wanted to know if I was on EAD and if yes, unfortunately they cannot hire EADs during the fourth quarter (now) due to hiring budget limitations that are typical during the fourth quarter.
Q: Why does budget come in to picture here?
A: Because policy requires the legal dept to be consulted for visa holders and EADs which means additional hiring costs plus time.
But she said once the fourth quarter passes, EAD hiring is not a problem.
Folks, we should not remain quiet about this. The regulations make it illegal for an employer to discriminate based on immigration status. We should politely and respectfully pursue the authorities regarding this matter.
I would encourage you to point out the USDOJ guidelines (posted earlier) to the "software giant" employer and also contact the OSC worker hotline.
Also, would it be wise for people to post name of the company who are known to have such policies? We got one - CapitalOne from earlier posts.
