Officially, the launch of the PERM labor certification application centralization at the Atlanta National Processing Center will not be completed until June 1, 2008
This is great news .. "Audited PERM case = Old Labor filing system"
:(
About my case

Category : EB2
Priority Date: 18 Oct 2007
Audit date : 20 Nov 2007
Audit Reply Date : 17th Dec 2007
Anyways there is not much advantage even if i had Labor certification.
No Premium Processing for I-140
Forget about I485 opening up anytime soon...
Have about 1 year left on H1B and can't even think about leaving current job for a better one. Just stuck for a sinking boat ride.. The only other option is jump off the boat and back to sweet old home...
lets see how it goes..

Totally agree with ya.
Unless crises strikes people and they are shatters they do not care.
Just see the old threads of EAD delays. All these people with EADs were sobbing on those threads pleading to IV to help them. Most did not have a donor status or had contributed a dime. They were on the verge of losing their jobs when IV helped them get their EADs on time. Now where are all those hundreds of people. Are they contributing a dime for the lobby day? I bet after 2 years, they will come again to IV and sob about EADs delays and ask IV to help them.
This is the part I am not agreeing with IV and dont like very much. Why would IV ever need to help people who never bothered to contribute time or money?
If they can get it for free why would anyone wants to contribute ?

Is this happening this year too - TSC is giving approvals and not NSC? Last Aug / September when my priority date was current - it was the same, i know of people who got approved from TSC whose PD were 12/05.
I knew one case that got approved last year at TSC with PD 12/2005

Retrogression in Various Steps of the GC process
While January 2005 was the first time since July 2001 there was retrogression for the EB-3 category (01/01/02 for both China and India), the US continues to maintain protectionism through their immigration system.
Retrogression in Labor Certification: Between 2002 and 2005, there was severe retrogression as far as labor certifications were concerned. Then came the PERM in March 2005 and for a couple of years, they boasted labor certification with 3 to 6 months time. Of late I think it is taking more than 6 months for LC approvals even through PERM.
Retrogression in I-140 Approvals: I do not remember when the USCIS suspended the premium processing for I-140 but even before they did that, they managed protectionism by delaying the approval of I-140. As per some one's posting, it is now taking 14 months for an I-140 approval.
Retrogression of I-485 Approvals: Post July 2007 VB, even a 1st year engineering student from India, studying the American immigration system, can tell you it could take years (not the current 6-9 months processing time) for approval of I-485s. The delay in approving an I-485 petition is not subject to the the July 2007 Visa Bulletin alone, it cannot also escape 'protectionism-tainted' FBI name check delay.
I may sound like quite a pessimist, but add to all this the possible denials for PLC (permanent labor certification), I-140, EAD, AP & I-485s.

there was retrogression in 99, but after the recapture of numbers under ac21, there was no retrogression from july 2001 till 2005

above post has lot of spelling mistakes and is misleading too ..texas is bit better but owning is cheaper only if prices are increasing at inflation plus 1 or 2 percent minimum. (and this may not happen for 4-5 years ..once prices start to increase..your calculation becomes applicable)
if your mortgage is 6% and the forecast is that home prices will fall 10%, then your interest rate effectively becomes 16% plus. the only advantage (or disadvantage) in a home is the extra space.
and in current economic situation, the extra space, payments, headache, immobility is more of a headache than quality
Sorry, its fixed now.

Why do I get a feeling you are incapable of digesting the concept of "Law of the land". There are certain rules that govern PR & Citizenship statuses ( of all countries)and only land mark & ground breaking edicts can alter such laws , and that too very slightly. To put it were tersely "this is a bullshit suggestion" and is really wasting the purpose of this forum. The only reason so many people have responded is that it is "THAT RIDICULOUS"
Hallo Sir, with all due respects, if you read carefully what the original post was, you would understand that its just another frustration arising from an individual who has / would spend around 40-50% of the avg productive life to achieve identification with the country he/she has contributed tremendously. Here nor the degree matters nor the salary matters, what matters is as he mentioned how many years you have been legally permitted to remain in this country. Regarding law of land, remember that the US is very close to permitting aprox 11 million undocumented people the road to permanent residency and citizenship. For which I believe a 10 year waiting period has been prescribed with fine payment. If such a rule can be thought of, why not count the number of years you/me are in this country working to enrich the economy + maintaining the inflow of cash into the social security/medicare etc. Please dont mininterpret me to be against the policy of granting legal status to undomented workers, definetely not. Now whether what the initial post suggests is ever going to happen is questionable, but his/her request for more respect is very much justified. Nobody (doesn't matter whether you are a junior/senior/moderator) has the right to ridicule another persons opinion unless that post is deliberately aimed at ciritisizing the IV agenda. Please honor each others freedom of thought and expression, OK. Thanks.

I read from another post that there are a total of 233k EB applications. Considering there are 140k available per year, should'nt this list be cleared in 2 years even if another 50k still apply in the next 2 years? What am I missing?
