Ya...Atleast, they should allow us to file EAD. In that case my spouse can work. She did not get H1b this year(because of lottery system). She has PHD in CSE and sitting at home.
If she has a PHD in CSE she should look for a job get H1 and file Green Card in EB1 all off this can be done in 6 months! What's holding you back???? :)

All,
This is a very good news that I have heard since last July. I am not sure if MBA's will also be condidered as part of this bill. I have paid around $90 K from my pocket, to get my MBA from Duke.
If that is the case then I would recommend that anyone who has any kind of support from their employer (or even without it) should get a masters degree as soon as possible. This will not only increase our value but will also shorten the queue.... just my 2 cents.

What he/she is doing is legal. Unless this offer involved payment for labor substituion, in which case its illegal. But good luck trying to prove it. Ever heard of wage kickbacks?

I read through this proposed legislature and there is absolutely nothing to worry about.
your valid drivers license is clearly mentioned as one of the acceptable proof of legal status. you need to be arrested or there should be obvious reason to suspect ilegal presence for the law official to ask proof of legal status. Why is that of any concern? That is perfectly normal in a legal society. You dont have to walk around with your 797 or 94s all you have to carry is a valid drivers license. Even if you dont have a license you will be given a chance to proove your legal status or inother words the decision is not made on the spot.
Again for those unfortunate who are here ilegally this law might become an issue. But we might end up seeing inflation as a result of these crack downs. More industry particularly packing/agriculture might migrate oversees. Anyway we will wait and see.

Education evaluation was not done for bachelors because the Labor only required masters. My attorney is planning to use 2 years of my experience to compensate for the additional 1 year of bachelors degree

I got nothing else to say besides that I concur with every word you said about highly skilled population. They get so caught up and satisfied with their small satisfactions, that they tend to ignore the bigger picture. At times, I think USCIS just fooled us and gave in July07 to shut us up. Yes the right work is shut all us up, like those small beggars who beg on the streets and you give them 2Rs to shut them up.

My experience with Picture People was ok - fair, I guess those are fine pictures as per USCIS specifications, but nothing out of the ordinary. 14.99 for a set of 4 pictures. Set me back about $80 for 3 sets of 8 pictures.
But my own pictures came out better and are as per specifications. The question is whether to take a chance in case i missed anything or to go with Ok-Fair pictures from Picture People. decisions.. decisions... damn.. retrogression
and of course most portrait studios would guarantee acceptance else will give you a refund or take pictures again for free in case of an RFE.

This is a really good initiative. I appreciate the IV core for taking this up. I have read enough stories from people on Murthy forums. I will ask people on those forums to post their stories first hand on IV forums.
