I find that Silverlight and related .NET stuff works extremely well cross-platform. Apps like Banshee (http://banshee-project.org/) are cross-platform (really, not like Flash and AIR which suck on Linux and Mac) and work wonderfully on every platform (alright, bad example: there’s not a Windows port at the moment, because of the underlying audio libraries, but it’s all C# stuff).
Mono is implementing a really nice open-source version of Silverlight (I forget its name), and Silverlight works great on Mac.

This is NOT what I said in my post. I mentioned "Dependent Relationship". Dependent Visa applies in most cases, though. Example - Your wife could be on F1 or other visa and that is not dependent visa.

Finally after nine years in US my Green Card is approved.
On this very day in 2001 i was in flight to USA
1) Came to US on Feb 1st 2001
2) Changed employer in 2002 and GC applied in 2003 in EB3
3) After 2 years, changed the employer in 2004 and applied GC in EB2 at the end of 2004
4) Application with the DOL sent to the BEC
5) DOL approved the petition in Jan 2007
6) Applied I140 in April 2007
7) Applied I485 in July 2007
8) FP completed and EAD received in September 2007
9) I140 RFE Aug 2008
10) I140 denied in March 2009 - Reason is Too may petitions from the employer
11) Appeal sent in April 2009
12) Once the dates are current in Sep 2009, i talked to the attorney and decided to file a new I140 with the same labor
13) New I140 filed in Sep 2009
14) Received a notice from USCIS to withdraw the appeal inorder to process the new I140
15) Appeal withdrawn in October 2009
16) New I140 approved in Nov 2009
17) FP notices received in November for I485
18) FP done in December 2009
19) Infopass appointment in Jan 2010. Background check is completed

Man why you need reciepts?
For most purposes of contact with USCIS you don't need the original receipts.
The only exception is the time when you travel if your AP is pending. You would need to have a valid visa stamp (H1/H4/L1 or whatever) and the ORIGINAL receipt notice.
As far as the lawyer saying that the original receipt notice being property of the employer; that would only happen if the lawyer is on the payroll of your employer and the employer is paying for the whole process.
If you have an independent lawyer and you are paying him, the AOS/EAD/AP notices are your property (if you can use that term).
I think legally the employer might refuse to give you the original notice for H1B or LCA or maybe I 140 but you can always get them using FIFO.
Of course you would have to insist on the original H1B notice if you are going for visa stamping though.
Again this is not legal advice, just my 2 cents as I am not a lawyer.

As a potential immigrant, who has had the opportunity to live and work in America 10 years and counting, I haven't experienced the least bit of anti-foreigner sentiments from the everyday American folk. All I want to say, is that I have been extended the opportunities, quite felt welcomed and feel truly blessed to have some met some of the nicest folks / friends, from my time living in this country. I grew up in a country where we never got to belong. You could be born, and live there to the day you die -- and you'd never get to belong. It's a whole lot different here in America. I truly hope some people express fair and balanced opinions, as opposed to writing with a hidden agenda.. and that's a shame.

If she is here on H4 and while she was here her H1B got approved then there is no problem. As H1B is not VISA and its intent to hire. Infact if she wanted to to Join work on H1B, she will need to apply status change application for H4 to H1B.
This is wrong...once the H1B approved the status automatically changed. If you are not paid in H1B, you are out of status. The only way to correc the status is getting paid, pay the tax and get W-2 as like anyother person.
H1B is not a vsia intend to hire. As you are not able to find a suitable american for the job, you are hiring a foreigner with speciallity skills. Means already you have a job for the person you are sponsoring.

Verify your G-325 application form properly especially the employment history you provided. My wife also got the similar RFE early this year due to technical error that we made in G325 form. (My wife applied for H1 but she did not worked through that company mean while she got her EAD then started working for another company, Which voided H1-B, In G-325 we mentioned that she was working from July 2007 but her H1 is valid from October so Officer might have thought that she worked illegally for 3 months) .
We provided w2's, pay stubs and amended G325 etc to prove that she did not worked on her H1 or illegally.

Is the employer violating H1B requirements?? I understand legally H1B fees is the responsibility of the employer.
