I know what you could do. You could play videos with it, such as mkv's, either streamed or synced with your device.

I can afford one but the lack of MKV playback is the deal killer. So that makes it $499 to browse the internet.

I wouldn't bother arguing *LTD* about this. Many have tried and failed. He simply refuses to accept that Redmond has produced some quality products without ripping off Apple. Each versions of every Microsoft products have their +'s and -'s. Recently, with Windows 7, Office IE9, WP7; Microsoft have been churning out some quality, solid, software. Not to mention what a great success the Xbox has turned out to be. Yes, they are not always the first to have some features in their products, but neither are Apple at times. Fast user switching is one that springs to mind.
Just because they licence their software to a range of hardware companies, *LTD* automatically thinks they are trash. And, yes, some of their products have been trash. But so have Apple's at times.

I ordered mine on Monday and got it yesterday (ground shipping!). I just got off the phone with tech support (customer service had no clue about the change in specs). He actually had no clue either. He'd never heard of any color or pink cast problems, surprise surprise, and said that that kind of thing is just a matter of opinion. I said that bumping brightness to 400 cd/m2 (up from 270 cd/m2) and contrast ration to 700:1 (up from 400:1) isn't a matter of opinion, so they should have some way of confirming that I received what I paid for.
In any event, he did tell me that mine was manufactured in June (sn 2A6221XXXXX). I would hope and assume that this means it's the newer LCD. It looked great from my powerbook, and I'm looking forward to checking it out with my new Mac Pro when it arrives tomorrow.

And please.... don't cry about the 30% margin... it's so freak'n fair by all software distribution practices that is not a reason for any developer not to want to use the AppStore as a channel.

Be careful when buying at an Apple Store that they don't pawn off on you the previous generation model. I was told by an employee that they were the same except for the price. If your not careful they may try to sell their existing stock at the reduced price. Buy online for now. I can't see a way to tell which model is current and which is prior, except for the obvious brightness.

my dream feature will be that bootcamp has been change to where u can nativly run mac/windows in the same screen with out reboot "hey i can dream" lol hopefully 3ghz macbook pros and a mid range tower and maybe new hd monitors thats biger than 30 inch for itv like 40 50 and 60" :cool: and blu ray will be made on all new macs

16GB WIFI only iPad 2.
I went back and forth with the idea of "needing" 3G but I have an iPhone, hardly ever travel, everywhere I go has WIFI and I have a MacBook and an iMac. I figure with the money I save, I can use on accessories...or just save :-).
Plus, my friend works at Best Buy and gives me half off accessories.
Any recommendations on apps that are must haves?

I agree with you on this- the comments were definitely rude.
But I still don't think you get my point (and this includes the guy who posted below my previous post). That it doesn't mean that the other person is jealous of you. Its this attitude that irks me. And its this very attitude that so many "fanboys" share. Why in the world would someone be JEALOUS of you because you have a $200-$300 phone or even a $1500 computer?!? And because you think others envy you for it, you end up placing extraordinary value on everyday material things. I mean, seriously, is this what you use to define your status in society, what kind of phone you carry? Are you really that shallow and materialistic? I honestly feel pity for you.
To the other poster. You were jealous of (or "hated") those who had iphones until you got one for yourself. Now you believe that everyone around you is jealous of you.
I understand, you buy something trendy, and it makes you feel good. Thats great, I'm not arguing with that, because you should enjoy everything you have. But its this faux sense of superiority that comes with it, that makes you believe that others are envious of you because you bought this gadget. Its not like you've won the Nobel prize or even drive a Bugatti Veyron, that would make someone want what you have. No, you bought a phone. A phone that lots of people already have. A phone that my housekeeper's 11 year old son has. And any Joe Schmoe can walk into any Apple store/Walmart/Best Buy and pick one up. And when the new model comes out, you'll buy that as well, because you're chronically unsatisfied with what you have, and somehow, you feel that owning this will raise you up above the rest of society. It is people with attitudes like this (the attitude of the fanboy) that Apple capitalizes on.
Take this as a life lesson -- set your goals higher. Don't be envious of the guy with the cooler phone.

Squarely wrong. Even "The Inquirer" has talked about the vastly superior multitasking AND SMP features of OS X Leopard, as compared to what Vista seems to offer. Damn, even today any version of Windows crawls far behind OS X in that.

Shopping at Best Buy is a crime in itself. :) I feel bad for the kid, but we don't know if he did that on purpose or had other motivation. Maybe he lives with his dad who is an abusive drunk and is trying to get fired as an excuse so he can move out of state to live with his mom and go to college with his old friends from back home. In that case, it's a win for both and the OP was doing the kid a favor and didn't know it. OMG my ipad2 just came to my door!
