Hi I'm a Moroccan citizen I was placed in removal proceedings (NY Buffalo) and took voluntary departure. once my wife's divorce was finalized we got married while on voluntary departure. we filed motion to reopen the case and it was reopened and transferred to Los Angeles, CA then the judge closed my case based on marriage with an I130 receipt without prejudice. The I130 was filed on june 2009 and was transferred to Los Angeles on November 12, 2009. I made an appointment with Info Pass but they just said you have to wait untill we call you. My lawyer said I can't file for the I485 untill the I130 is approved. My question is: How long will it take before we will be called for an interview?

Hi,
I am on Adv-Parole (with EAD) and planning to visit India in July 2010.
I know that UK and France require transit visa, but I was wondering whether I can fly via KLM (Amsterdam) OR Lufthansa (Frankfurt) without any transit visa ?
Will appreciate the response.

I can say with certainity that transit visa is not required for return through Amsterdam on AP. This year 2010, was my second travel through Amsterdam with AP and the port officials really respected the document and treated me very well.

hello, I am in a F1 status for about 3 years, I have been working and filing taxes. I am going to get married to a USC and apply for a green card through it. I want to know if I can have any problem in the aplication since I've been working without authorization. Second in concern to the affidavit support how much should I show and who has to fill these forms since my future wife is unemployed. Third in case my wife file for bankruptcy in the future that could affect me and if it does how can avoid this. By the way I live in florida.

Yes that is right. The biometrics is essentially only for I-485 and that is the only LUD that may get updated.
i did the same... selected 485 only, i asked the lady who checked ID she said that was ok...
also if you think about it the FP notice was for 485, if EAD or AP requires FP we should get separate FP notices init? :) (thats my take on it)

u can file for a 3 year ext of H1 status under AC21 - This will enable u to continue in valid status while the retrogression eases if it ever will.
Also note that portability is allowed and u can switch employers during this period. u can retain ur current PD and use it for a later GC app if reqd

During this tough times of un-employment, it is very unfortunate that many of us lose our jobs. As a result many of us lose medical benefits too. I would like to explore our options for medical insurance (which is the most needed) for someone who lost their jobs and cannot afford COBRA coverage since it is very expensive. IF you are unemployed and if you have bought your own medical insurance (not as a group plan through the employer), but bought it as an individual plan, can you throw in some details. For the second time, a federal judge has declared a Farmers Branch ordinance banning illegal immigrants from renting in the city to be unconstitutional. U.S. District Judge Jane Boyle of Dallas ruled Wednesday that the ordinance was an attempt to enforce U.S. immigration laws – something the judge said only the federal government can do.
The judge also issued a permanent injunction to stop Farmers Branch from enforcing Ordinance 2952.
Mayor Tim O'Hare, the driving force behind the ordinances, said he wants to appeal.
"The American people are tired of judges legislating from the bench," he said. "This decision is not unexpected but welcomed, because it allows us to get closer to this ordinance becoming reality."
But O'Hare said the City Council would have to vote on whether to continue a fight that has cost the city nearly $3.2 million since September 2006. And the city may need to spend an additional $623,000 in legal fees in the year ahead, city finance director Charles Cox said Wednesday.
About one-quarter of the estimated 30,000 people who live in Farmers Branch were born outside the United States. About 47 percent of the city's population is Hispanic.
In the past four years, the city has proposed a series of ordinances that would make it illegal for landlords to rent to illegal immigrants. A version approved by the council in 2006 was repealed in early 2007 to make way for another ordinance.
That ordinance, No. 2903, was approved by two-thirds of voters in 2007 but later declared unconstitutional by U.S. District Judge Sam Lindsay. The city abandoned an appeal of that ordinance in favor of Ordinance 2952. No. 2952 added all rental units, including houses, to the ban on renting to illegal immigrants.
