Your receipt notice will show "receipt date" as July 3 - Oct 10 as Notice Date, thats when they entered your case into the system. If you end up with USCIS rep level 1, they say received date as Oct 10 as they don't have vicinity to Receipt Date. when I called to check the status of my AP, rep said, they receipted (noticed date) my case on 10/2 - it will take 3-6 months to get AP as TSC processing application entered on 7/17.
I got my receipt numbers by calling USCIS on Oct 12.

Actions speak louder than words. If they are deeply concerned then they should be taking steps forward to make something happen.
I agree with you. They talk a lot ,but no action !! It is disappointing.
We have to do something to get the SKILL Bill on the table. What IV is doing to push this BILL ? any comments from Core Team ?

Your existing PERM is ok as long the acquiring company (successor in interest) keeps you in the same job (almost same job) with similar duties in the same location ( I am not sure exactly on location though it would make sense)
Even though I didnt have a PERM case go through this scenario. I had an old style case through BEC that went through company acquisitions.
Your attorney will have to file amendments and other supporting documents (like ability of new company to pay etc etc)

Me and my wife are July 2007 filers. We applied for Ead renwal.
My wife started her own business and opened a LLC.
Which means she is using her EAD. But how does the USCIS know that she is using her EAD.
My question is when she aplied for the business license , she has given her SSN everywhere but how does the agencies know that this particular person is using EAD

Dont forget to include your (Main Appilcant's) I485 receipt copy. I got an RFE for not including that.

Last year, When I filed I-485/EAD/AP, I wrote the check in favor of DHS (abbreviated) and it was accepted.

You said that you live in IL. As far as I know, in IL, they do not care about Immigration Status - unless it is something very recent. My brother lived in IL till March 2009 - and his DL was issued for 4 years. I am sure that this is the case for Motorcycle license too.

Hello Gurus,
Pl guide me and let me know my options for the below scenario...
1. Me: Applied under EB2 (India) and have I-140 approved in September 2006.
Status as of now : Applied as dependent (secondary) on my spouse 485 and have EAD and AP since July 2007.
2. My spouse : Primary applicant - EB3 (India), December 2003.
As the dates are NOT moving forward for EB3 (India), I want to port our GC application dates from my spouse priority ( EB3- India - December 2003) to mine (EB2 - India - September 2006)
My question is, Can I change my status from dependent (secondary ) on my spouse 485 to me being primary applicant by invoking my approved I-140 (EB2 - India - September 2006), If YES what would be the process.

You cant port because it is different labor of two different people. As far as I know, when the EB2 (India - September 2006), labor date is current, you can file another 485 as primary and your spouse as dependent. Optionally, you can choose to withdraw your previous filings. Hope, this helps. Others can throw some light on this.

You can use the approved I-140 from company A to get a 3 year H-1 for company B assuming your priority date is not current. However, because you have not been working for company A, you are technically not in valid non-immigrant H status and though Company B's H-1 petition should be approved for three years, the extension may not be granted. This means that at some point you would have to leave, get a new H visa and then return.

I had a similar situation, and I had to change the employer and start all over again. However, your situation looks much better than mine. I was trying to find a lender to vouch for my employer, but that didn't happen. Your employer, on the other hand, has the lender. I believe you should be fine. The only area I'm not sure about is the period of time you didn't work for the health reason. This one I would consult about with a lawyer, since you are supposed to be employed while on H1b, or else you're out of status. There may be certain exceptions (like health-related issues) in the law.

It's not uncommon for text to be cut off when put inside a path. Perhaps the rest went missing and you didn't realize it since it all just looked like a bunch of binary code to you. It certainly does to me.
