Hi,
My wife's I-485 got a REF and I have received the alert. I have not received the actual document. When we went for medical exam in 2006, she was pregnant and one of the vaccine was not given. I am expecting the REF would ask for the remaining tests.
Right now my family is in Hyderabad, India. Is there any provision in Hyderabad to complete medical exam ? or I need to bring them back to US ?

If i am not mistaken We are looking at a legislation which will atleast renew them for few more months....So just as a word of caution it is too early for any assumption that EB4 Religious workers and EB5 is going to completely expire........ Wait 2 more weeks and we will know...

im on 7th year H1B extn, going for 8th next year
- filed I-485 when current ( have EAD) and got married after retrogession
- for the spouse i had to stay and extend my H1B to make her H4 valid
- at this stage can i change employer on H1B and also for 8th year and further
extns ? has anyone on this situation by any chance .....
any inputs / suggestions will be of great help. thanks in advance

I need an info from some one who had filed AC21 with an attorney. I want to apply my AC21 and asked my attorney to do so. But he is asking for $1500.00. Is this amount normal or I was asked for an abnormal amount. I thought its just informing USCIS by sending a letter only. But, is he charging me $1500 just to draft a letter?
I am looking for a constructive answer instead of vague assumptions / replies. It's an urgent issue for me to deal with.

Nothing to panic. This is a disaster & the entire world knows about it. Just make sure to take the screenshots of flight cancellation status & few online news headlines. Ask your parents to carry this while traveling to US in future.
For now, try to see there are any other options for them (like booking the ticket via one of those middle-east airlines). If not, just wait till middle of the next week so situation would be improved anyway.
Couple of days delay is easily justifiable under extraordinary situation like this one.

Hi ,
I got deported from Chicago when I was travelling back from India because I worked at a gas station with out authorization . I had to admit that I worked and I was deported back by flight same evening . They gave me the ticket .
My visa is cancelled and I was told to go back to consulate and get a new visa .
I want to come back and complete my studies as I have only 1 semester left . Please help what what should I do now .

I may have to travel urgently to India by end of this month. Just wondering if anyone recently got their passport renewed at DC and what was the duration. It will help me to take the decision about departure date. Unfortunately DC is 5 hours drive from where I live. I am not sure even if take a day off and drive to DC to collect the passport they will even give it to me on the same day. Multiple attempts to contact DC office via phone/email were not helpful. No one picks the phone and their voice mail system is always full. Any advise on what I should to do know status of my passport renewal would be appreciated.

I got exact query.
All you need is Affidavits from you Father, Mother and any other close relative. Ask them to go to your local court house. There will be people sitting there who do prepare affidavits and notarize them. They need to do it on 10 Rupees stamp paper and get it notarized. They shall have the date of birth affidavit template at court house.
Once they have them, ask them to scan and send them to you to save time. Also ask them to DHL the originals so that you could recieve in 2 or 3days.

The past couple days, I've had this very strange experience. Several of the affected people GREATLY appreciate the efforts being done by ImmigrationVoice and strongly support us (by words). This is all good encouragement. But for monetary contribution, even though the promise is made, they want to take some time to think about it.
Now, Think about what?? If this was some kind of an ad campaign or a puppet show, I did understand. The bottomline is either we get support from affected folks and stand a chance by involving lobbyist, media etc with full force, OR we just keep busting our butts and no money comes up, and we will be where we are 2 years from now.
There are some more folks that contributed SOME money and said they are willing to contribute again later. Fair enough. Only issue is we are running against the clock. It would be a pity if we get all the support in the world a little too late.
My guesstimate is that there are about 350K to 400K people affected by retrogression. As of yesterday, around 50 people have come forward with monetary contribution for the cause. Even though we have done progress by collecting about $8,500, this isn't cutting it. I am hard pressed to understand why affected people prefer to just wait and pray for the best, rather than taking the bull by the horn and try your best.
In our presentations to the lawmakers, we say, EB workers add so much value to the economy and have so much to contribute to this country. How about contributing something for ourselves for once? then maybe you'll have a chance to do the aforementioned contributions!!
I hope people don't regret not helping when the window was atleast slightly open, after it has been shut on their faces. Come May/June, election activities take precedence, don't expect anything to happen second half of this year.
I hope EVERYONE on here understands the importance and significance of acting RIGHT NOW.
I, for one, can sleep well at night, thinking that I did all I can.

I was wondering if you guys know any link on Dept on labor (or uscis.gov) that says that employer is responsible for all the legal(lawyer) fees. I work for a government firm and they only pay H1b fees that they are supposed to pay to USCIS. At the same time, they force me to hire a lawyer (I cannot file it myself) and they want me to pay for the lawyer.
I was wondering if you know of any law that I can show them and ask them to pay for the same.

The spreadsheet is totally sorted now according to the PD. I had to make one change though. The day of the month of PD was not mentioned and I had to write something to sort it out. I made it 1st of the month for everybody to be able to so sorting. You can change the day if you want to. Also please do not sort the data yourself. I will do it periodically.
