If you have an approved I-140 and the job description matches that of your Labor, you shouldn't have any issues. The job title shouldn't matter either, it's all in the description/role/responsibilities and the technology. If the technology/tool changes then it's an issue because the Labor you have tells that there is a shortage of people in that area.
Good Luck!

I have been US loong enough, to count on False promises. All these indian newspapers dont know what they are publishing, particularly abt things happening in US. Till i see an official announcement from any of the US Government Website i am not counting on this.
Anyways, if they can pay me back my Social Security money it would be simply great.

I think his post was based on the summary on the site.
"OpenCongress Summary:
This legislation would reform the family-based immigration system and speed up the process for family members of legal immigrants to secure visas. Specifically, it would reclassify spouses and children of legal immigrants as immediate relatives, raise the per-country family-sponsored immigration limits from 7 percent to 10 percent of total admissions, recapture visas that went unused in previous years due to bureaucratic errors, allow widows and spouses to remain eligible for visas after the death of a sponsoring family member, and more."

Most of the July filers have 140 approved and working in a full time job.So I think there will be little impact.
thats not necessarily true, there are lots of people with consulting firms including myself, however these are big consulting firms with 1000+ employees. I see fewer applicant from smaller companies.

search for More Legal Voters who is in favour= no one..
Is there any way? Yes We can
What?
Yes We can.
Give Amnesty= 12 Million voters.
so in America.
Immigration="ILLEGALS" only, they dont care for Legals
Legal=no votes, if at all only after 5 years from now.
Legal= no political voice, can be manipulated whichever way Politicians want.
to be Learned Story.
NEVER EVER BELIEVE POLITICIANs IN LIFE, You Can believe a Criminal he might be Truthful but these Poltricksians. nope nope nope.

What if you apply 485 on your own and then, employer fires you just because, you did not abide by his rule. What would happen in that case ? I guess, in most of the cases where employer is creating problem with 485 filing, ppl might not be wanting to go on their own due to above mentioned problem.

If the hosung markets turned down like the NASDAQ 5 yrs ago, and brought down the whole economy with it, then as a result of the ensuing economic recession you lost one, two or all 3 of your jobs and ended up in negative equity, could not find a new job sponsoring H1b due to the deep recession and your greencard is nowhere in the near future. Would you still feel as secure and happy? I am not sure what country you are from, but would you make a salary close to what you are making here?
Security my friend, thats what a green card brings. I applaud you on your courage and bravery in just taking a chance and doing all these things, you will likely be fine and get your green card eventually but taking risks can bring consequences as well. Many people are more risk averse than you.
A GC is going to make finding a job a lot easier & is going to make you feel much more secure than a H1 is a fallacy in my opinion. I think, if you currently have a H1 job, you have proved your worthiness in the job market. In fact, you are probably better off than a GC holder, since you are forced to be on your toes to maintain and update your skill set for fear of the difficulty in finding another H1 job.
I have plenty of (EB) GC friends around me who got their GCs through their job through the 1996-2000 .com boom, but now have trouble finding their 1st right job, post the GC. They missed out on the 2002-2005 housing boom, all the time while I, on a H1 was reaping the fruits of taking the risk and getting in while still waiting out on my GC.
Besides, in a global economy US jobs themselves are far less secure than during any other times in modern day history, so even a US citizenship is not going to make one feel secure with regards to employment.
What is going to make you feel secure ultimately is being well qualified & well skilled. For people with the right qualifications and skills there will always be a H1 job (or for that matter a well paid job no matter what the geography) out there. In my opinion, having the right skills and qualifications is one's security, and thats what I have always banked on while moving so forward on a H1.

what is this? there are delivered date and received date with received date before the delivered date. How can they receive before the delivery. Hmmm Did USCIS guys ran early morning 4 O Clock to UPS/ FED-EX/ ETC to receive the app before those guys attempted to deliver :) Even if someone says, "YES", there was 6 days difference between those two days. No idea what USCIS is doing.
Got Receipt

I agree.
Citizens want to either start consulting companies and get H1B employees or want to stop more Indians coming. More Indians mean less jobs for their children.
Green card holders do not even want to be friends with H1B.
H1B do not want to be friends with F1.
H1 girls want to be married to citizen or Green card holders. Or someone with EB2 PD.
Green card IV members do not even want to come back here.
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
agree 100% .....thats us indians ... a real selfish lot

I did search this with given phrase.. All the search results I see are directed to university websites.. primarily referring to I-20 validity. May be since universities are a little particular about status issues, informing the rules in advance.
In my wifes case, the company policy is not include on the payroll until the first project starts and after that they pay even on the bench. And so far no one (primary) was denied GC from her company. We didn't realize the problems earlier.. she was willing to work earlier.. but since all the clients were asking for SS#, they asked her to wait till she gets one. She soon got accepted by a F500 client, but since the director was on vacation, the the project didn't start till early june 06.. I was a little worried, so though my lawyer didn't ask, she asked her employer for an employment letter. We may be able to request additional letters if USCIS issues reasonable RFE from company. Well.. there is no point in discussing my case further except for stress relief..:(.. what ever happens happens.

andy garcia,
its not about reading it 10 times....but you're incorrect - read this portion in the memo dont just blindly read the "must be approved I-140 portion" of the memo.
it clearly says that the new memo is not any different from what was said back in 2005. here is the excerpt from the new memo:
In order to be considered valid, an I-140 petition must have been filed on behalf of an alien who was entitled to the employment-based classification at the time that the petition was filed, and therefore must be approved prior to a favorable determination of a portability request made under INA 204(j).
The holding in this decision is consistent with the guidance previously provided in the answer to Question 1, Section 1, on page 3 of the December 27, 2005 memorandum entitled Interim Guidance for Processing Form I-140 Employment-Based Immigrant Petitions and Form I-485 and H-1B Petitions Affected by the American Competitiveness in the Twenty-First Century Act of 2000 (AC21) (Public Law 106-313).
and by the way...here is the Q1, Section 1 page the memo is talking about....
Question 1. How should service centers or district offices process unapproved I-140
petitions that were concurrently filed with I-485 applications that have been pending
180 days in relation to the I-140 portability provisions under 106(c) of AC21?
Answer: If it is discovered that a beneficiary has ported off of an unapproved I-140 and I-485 that has
been pending for 180 days or more, the following procedures should be applied:
A. Review the pending I-140 petition to determine if the preponderance of the evidence
establishes that the case is approvable or would have been approvable had it been adjudicated
within 180 days. If the petition is approvable but for an ability to pay issue or any other issue
relating to a time after the filing of the petition, approve the petition on it’s merits. Then
adjudicate the adjustment of status application to determine if the new position is the same or
similar occupational classification for I-140 portability purposes.[/I][/I][/I][/I]
You can read it 10 ways, but the CIS has only one interpretation(see bold below).
An un-adjudicated Form I-140 petition is not made valid merely through the act of filing the petition with USCIS or through the passage of 180 days. Rather, the petition must have been filed on behalf of an alien who was entitled to the employment-based classification at the time that the petition was filed, and therefore must be approved prior to a favorable determination of a 106(c) AC21 portability request.

Based on my receipt numbers and looking up on USCIS website, it appears my AOS application that was sent to NSC has been sent to California Center. I have not seen anybody's case being sent to CSC. Dunno how good or bad it is and whether it sppeds up/delays my EAD processing. Anybody had experience with CSC and got any of EAD/AP/GC approved from CSC.
