They'll probably start with what Senate passes. and make some minor amendments.
If it passes the house, conference will be piece of cake.
Our best hope is:
1. When senators return to the constituencies for the memorial day recess, they receive a LOT of negative feedback about CIR and enough number of senators change their minds and vote in -ve and bill fails to make out of the Senate. Likelihood: 10-20%.
2. House of reps votes on this CIR and defeats it. Likelihood: 40-60%.
I hope one way or another, this piece of crap fails and I happily get my GC in another 5-10 years. If it passes, I'll have to pack my bags. Amen.

And Fujifilm too. But I think its a "business decision" somehow, and I don't expect it will happen, when Canon is so dominant, for that market segment concerned. At least not now, not soon. I wish I am wrong.

No I am not Indian, but that still makes me a H1B and greencard aplicant. So please, Antis might dislike us but that does not make them racist and hatefull against only Indians, you are not the only ones in the boat...dont make Indians the only important people here.
Plus a lot of the antis are probably people who lost a job and are finding someone to point the finger at, not right, but understandable.
I have Amercian friends who went from a good middleclass family to now being on foodstamps and not knowing how to feed their kids the next day, they dont hate me but they are upset and frustrated and scared...

It is currently taking a long time to adjudicate MTR's ( for some more than a year or so ) . I would say file a MTR and also file a new perm labor . I suggest going with EB3 rather than EB2 since rules for EB2 are now more stricter than before along with more scrutiny and RFE's. But its your own choice.
I think the new labor would get approved before you get a response for your MTR. If they clear the original labor well and good or else you would at least have the new one .

Actually they are very loose regarding cameras and fans. Can't say I've seen any L's on fans. I have seen fans with 10D's however.

You're absolutely right. I actually DID get a shot like that, but unfortunately I screwed up and clipped off more than half of his boots when framing it. Photoshop can't (easily) fix that.;)

That is why they may be using this tactic to bring pressure from hospitals from that area. Anyone from here spoke or wrote to these congressmen, that I posted in the other thread (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showpost.php?p=47625&postcount=1) at IV.
I doubt if the above three even know what the whole deal on these 90K visas is. where they come from, what are at stakes, who lost them, why they lost them etc things. I agree with you that we need to call these and let them know that these belong to EB, hence recapture them for EB and request them to allocate special 50K/90K to Schedule A

As I mentioned in my post, I have applied for H1 in India in April,2007and got approval in August,2007.
My Approved H1 B petition does not have change of status i.e 1-94.
I came to USA on L1 in Feb,2008 and working till date. and my I-94 is valid till Feb,2011.
As I want to shift to H1 B,I think I need to go out of country i.e Canada from USA for H1 B stamping.
My question is:
If for some reason, I have not issued H1 visa at Canada consulate,
Is my L1 is still valid and Can I comeback to USA on my L1 visa and I-94? and Can I continue working on my L1 in USA?
Please suggest me the better approach.
My objective is to switch to H1 using my old approved petiiton and not want to go back to India for H1 stamping.

You should receive it in 3-4 days max. We got it in 2 days. Please ask them to recheck, or call USCIS 1-800 number or even better conduct INFOPASS where they can even resend the RFE to another address if necessary.
Generally how many days it takes to get the actual RFE in hand.

The whole non-compete agreement is a cruel joke on the employee who finds his own project. All these incapable bad desi employers ban the employee from joining the client whom the employee got them in the first place.
I know a friend of mine works for an employer, he found his own project through a vendor, now because of non-compete agreement he cannot join the client, nor the vendor and now the employer and vendors are buddies and thinking of other business opportunities. In all this the employee is the loser while it was he who brought the employer and vendor together into minting more money at his expense.
This is especially true of smaller companies. Big companies at least have real end clients and find projects. With smaller companies, employee finds projects, helps build client list for his company, gets paid less than market rate, etc.
If the GC process were smoother, a lot of such employers would shut down. Their business model is helped by the immigration mess....
