I would suggest IV to setup a seperate Chinese (or Hispanic) contribution page to diverse the culture background of IV members.

Some legislative action is expected in Feb. Money will be needed immediately. I don't think $20/month is the answer.
I think $200 is a very reasonable amount based on the cause. Life is not a charity.

If this kind of restriction is not done what will be best way to resolve H1b issue? If H1b increase is done and similar increase is not done on GC then also problem to all IV members(retrogession will continue). If there is cap then certainly it will be reached every year within April.

that the years for Citzenship count the day you apply for I-485...not actually recieving the GC..that was his lawyers opinion..
So does this mean that all the July filers will be eligible for Naturalization come July 2012 ( provided they get the GC by then)
Gurus please comment - any one has spoken to the lawyers on this topic?

It shows that we were ahead of them in following events that happened last week. They posted something today that we knew while it was happening last week.!! It is all possible due to the support of our members (small minorty though :( ) that have contributed and enabled us to have the tools to have a foot inside the door on the hill.

I just don't see why you jumped all over the guy. The lawyer told him something that he thought was horrible - and rightly so, based on the info provided to him by the lawyer. So he posted that, in hopes to inform his fellow members about this situation, and probably he was hoping someone would confirm or disprove that. Instead everybody jumped all over the guy. We may all be stressed out with all this CIR / July bulletin roller coaster, but let's not too crazy and devour one of our own. He ain't the one who caused you the pain in the first place.

INS needs money, best strategy stop all 485 for couple of months, let them back log, we will raise the fees exhorbitantly across board to 485/EAD/AP etc, then make everything current, ecpecially INDIA/CHINA that's where the money flow is from, but lets not make it obvious and dubious, we will move forward the dates for couple of years for June and make it current for July (remember July1 is the date new fees kick in), and then make sure everbody files and after 2 months, we will retrogress back to 3 or 4 years back to where we started so that conservative politicians are happy, that way we will have everbody in the INS Casino, no going out, keep renewing by paying more and more fees, INS haapy, I-485 applicants are in make belive happiness as spouces and children get EAD"

The first step you should get your employer to do is to file a job order in the state job bank or americas job bank. You have to keep this ad for 30 days and then wait another 30 days to file PERM. This is the longest time. All other forms of recruitment needs to wait only 30 days and you can file PERM on the 31st day. There is no mention of working days or weekends, it is 30 continuous days. As you know in addition to this job bank order, and two Sunday newspaper ads, there has to be three other forms of recruitment before you can file PERM. If your employer and lawyer are really proactive it will only take 60 days to file PERM from start to finish. You also have to get a prevailing wage determination and post it at your job site for 10 days not including holidays and weekends. Hope this helps. USCIS does not differentiate US or Indian degrees.. Yes US degree has its own advantages... It more than just LEARNING...
Education is a bigger word than learning... Institutions can impart learning only... You can be highly learned with big degrees... still not educated :-)
Take a chill pill friends... Degree is important to USCIS like MPG (miles per gallon) to Car.. as its a basis to compare different entities :-)

EB3I dates never really crossed 2001 after the JUL 07 drama which screwed all EB3 in my opinion.
1) USCIS never looked at those cases which got ported out. So if they try to process cases in 2002 they might end up finding lesser cases needing approval than they actually counted, could be bcoz of porting or people who gave up and left the country. USCIS is auto porting the date if you have old labor and i140, I know few friends who got GC like that.
2) At this pace EB2 will be current by mid next year, once it is processing time for 485 is at least 4 months which will fall into 2012, so the same huge number of spill will come to EB3 ROW. If the spill over is too much USCIS may consider spilling it to worst retrogressed countries.
-ve aspect: If USCIS starts doing quarterly spill over this may not happen. So as per my logic USCIS will start doing quarterly spill soon.
3) The as&***s who decided to change the spill to vertical might get bitten by a mad donkey or a dog and might change it back to the old model. I don't see any &&)) why all the spill has to go vertically from 2007, bcoz we irritated USICS or DOS by kissing their weak spots.
4) As per my Karma or belief model whatever IV does, hurts EB3 more. I don't think any admin fix will fix the vertical spill or recapture.

I know once I 485 is filed and I 140 is approved after 6 months you can move to a simlar job.
My question is what you get laid off after 6 months of filing I 485 but you cant get a new job immediately, what if you get new job only after 2-3 months gap - what are the reprecussions ?
Also is there concrete guildlines on what same or similar job is ?
