Is it working on 3.0, or 3.0.1?
I still refuse to bump up to 3.1, don't want to lose tethering just yet.

Hi I'm looking for the best and most compatible dvd burner to purchase that works with macs and Pc's. Does anyone know of or have any recommendations for this. I'd prefer it was a dual layer one.

The controllers are really needed.
IMHO:
The Atari Joystick is the best video game controller of all time.
The trackball is a must for playing games like centipede or millipede.
And playing breakout or kaboom without a paddle controller is not the same.
As mentioned above the iCade has to include a trackball.
Maybe a bluetooth adapter could be used to use the old controllers?
I hope that Activision also release their games.

Actually no, it doesn't. It asks you if you've ever had sexual contact with another male (at least in Colorado and NY, the two places I've given). I've never seen anything in the process that would preclude a gay virgin.

I bought my iPad1 from Apple 10 months ago. When asked which Sim I said O2 but have never used a sim in it. WIll my iPad be locked to O2 or will it use any Sim?

If the launch is Wednesday they are leaving it incredibly late!
What are we supposed to do. Base it all on rumor and show up outside stores on Wednesday if we want one? Give me a break!
EXACTLY! All this hush hush in the telecom business is ridiculous. I imagine Apple is waiting on all the retail stores to confirm delivery from weekend shipments and a safe bet would be a Wednesday announcement and you can buy Thursday at retail stores, select Best Buys, and possibly ATT/VZW.
I wonder if there is a surprise up Apples sleeve, like a 64GB white model available as kinda like a "sorry" for the delay...???

Not when there are plenty of people who don't know/don't care about such restrictions. You may refuse to do business with the studios due to their draconian rights management, but all the higher end services are covered with them. The result is you're one of the lowest spending consumers on the entertainment industry's radar.
The sad fact is, you don't want to play ball and they could care less when you're in the minority.
Do you ever wonder why you cable company doesn't offer any special limited time rates on basic cable service?
But I'm *NOT* one of the lowest spending customers... I'm constantly buying DVDs from Amazon... I don't have room for the DVDs I have as it is... My cable bill makes me want to puke.. I'd hold my entertainment spending up against any on this forum..
I'm refusing to buy the latest CRAP-laden disks, possible-broadcast flag-filled broadcasts, and downloads they're trying to shove down our throats in the future... I'm saying if they want to keep my future business at anywhere near my current rates, they better make the future DRM/Crap/etc more like what we have now, or they will loose sales..
How can that NOT be on their RADAR?

i'm not to keen on this whole cloud computing concept that is floating around at the moment. Anyone else have doubts?

Most people don't call it a 'cloud,' but an amazing number of people pretty much just use Facebook as their only photo-storage facility. Forget the fact that many of them become down-rezzed when doing so...and that's before you get into conversations about how safe the data is and how you can access it. Those kind of thoughts don't even enter most people's minds.
I've heard from so many people who have lost entire computer drives and kind of laugh it off 'cause their photos are on Facebook and their music is on their iPod.
You and I may see the downsides to cloud computing compared to what we do now, but for these people a better cloud-computing-workflow from a company like Apple would actually be a huge step UP.

I have noticed this the last couple of weeks using Chrome on different computers on different networks.
Every now or then on a relative frequent basis, the forum spy page will time out and Chrom will give me the option to kill the page or wait. This will also make any other open threads I am viewing in other tabs essentially freeze (no scrolling for example).
Anyone else notice this? If so, thought I would bring it to light so to speak
