Which state you are based in? If you are close to NJ, I know a doctor whoes turn around time was very very quick. You can speak to him in advance and arrange to get everything done quickly. He is very accomodative also. You can PM me if you are interested.

I think, it is a combination of three things.
1. Laziness
2. No Accountability
2. Bad intentions ...as you mentioned
In my job, I am a software trainer. I teach hundreds of people. I will be accountable (and asked questions) if I delay my work even by one day. There are tight deadlines for everything. (Yes, 5 minute job of renewing EAD will not be 90 days ...it will be 5 minutes only) Even if one customer just soft complains about anything, I will be held accountable and my job will be in jeopardy. There is no such thing in USCIS.
BTW: I hate when they say 90 days and then exclude the RFE time and the mail accepting time.(They count from the date of receipt and not the date of receiving the mail). On the top of it, the receipt date can be any time they want and not the date of receiving the date. It can become 120 days and when they say "days", it is like one of those commercials which says, " for only 1$ a day ...." instead of saying $365 which they charge for the whole year . subscription.
Same way instead of saying 3 to 5 months , they say 90 days (so that it does not seem long). they should say , "EAD RENEWAL ONLY TAKES 129600 MINUTES". ..and then in the small print, light gray color at a hidden spot in the bottom, in tons of lines of text, say, "does not include RFE, holidays, Mail transit time, and time before we accept it"
Can anybody please send me the address of USCIS director ? I want to write a letter to him with a copy to his boss too. Anybody can help me know who his boss is and his address too ?

Whenever USICS efficiency/operating procedures are discussed here, I am reminded of what a clerk in my engineering school in India once told me. Mind you, this was NOT a government office where dealinggs of millions of rupees are made. This was a SCHOOL.
Following is the brief dialoge between the clerk and I:
Clerk: "Bhai, clerk se hamesha dar ke rehna."
Me" "Kyon?"
Clerk:" KUTTA mein ek (one) "K" ( the hindi letter Ka), hota hai aur clerk mei 2, is liya dhyan rakha"

Hi all,
Mine is a different situation, i was with my employer till mid of last year and did not inform him while leaving his company and joined another job (h1 transfer) he is now saying that the vendor did not pay him some money and i have to pay that amount and he is demanding that amount for my W-2.
He also said that he would take legal action if i didnot pay his losses ( i did not sign any document with him other than my h1b papers) no agreements,
I am going to call IRS after feb15, but is he going to go to court?
Please suggest me.

You are not responsible for his losses unless your job duties were to collect payments from the vendor.

So those guys who attended the hearings or met with senators. what was the result? what did they accomplished? did they get the opportunity to participate with the senator or law maker in an action plan? or we just wasted that opportunity asking for autographs? please those guys post your comments. - I strongly object to the language used in your post. How can you say the IV members just went to get the autographs. If you were involved in any of the meetings with the lawmeekers, you would know the difference. By the way, AILA reports the bill numbers for the Dream Act as follows (the bills were introduced in both house and senate)...S. 774 and H.R. 1275...it doesn't mention anything about being below 30, z visas, or being undocumented...!!!

Instead you can have your negotiations with your Doctor and Hospital.
In Dallas (Las Collinas), if you dont have medical insurance, you can have an arrangement with the Doctor and Hospital.
Like one of my friend paid 3K for everything for Delivery + 5K I think for the hospitals. Ofcourse this is based on the delivery is not complicated / C-section couple of years ago.

That is wishful thinking.I know people with more recent priority dates got cleared in june but it will go back to PD system from now on again,how else can they do it.The reason why (to eveyone's surprise) they made everything current was to clear some of these cases which were filed long ago(I-485) but were stuck due to the retrogression.This is obviously not going to happen again for sometime since they now have hundreds of thousands of more cases.
I think this will happen again but only in the last quarter when USCIS has to utilise all the visa numbers .With the fiasco that happened in July ,there will be a substantial movement in PDs for June 2008 VB or in the last quarter as they will want to approve cases which have been cleared but cant be approved due to PD not being current. So we will see this kind of scenario almost every last quarter. Also there is a high probablity because
1. they would not like to waste visa numbers .
2. USCIS in under the pressure for media to work in a more efficient manner and justify the fee hikes
3. this also happens to make some people from the immigrant community happy ( atleast something is happening rather than nothing is happening)

With all these analysis, is there any formula to actually predict when one could get the GC? I was just curious to know when I could potentially get my GC although I stopped worrying about it a very long time ago.

It is not good idea. In DS-156 you need to specify whether you are married or not. And also you need to specify if spouse/brother/sister.. is there is US.
Congrats suresh..it's good to see Dec 05 getting approved..best option would be to get your wife here on F1..Some of the schools required only TOEFL ..after coming to US get married again in US and apply for 485..if she is currently working in india..u can try L1 too....ofcourse for H-1B u need to wait for one more year..i don't think US embassy in Chennai will get to know u got married unless she tells them..there is no fraud or anything in this..i believe it's like..don't ask, don't say..ur not cheating anyone..trying to find a small loop hole for a very good reason..

Thanks Arihant. Yes it is strange and I am trying to find their ulterior motive behind this. All the while I thought my employer is not one of the typical desi employers (read blood sucking) we hear about in this forum. Hope I am right.
By the way, my question was related to AC21 (after 180 days of filing 485). If I quit my current employer and join another company, how would I let USCIS know to forward all their RFEs to my new employer/lawyer and not to the old one. Am asking this because I heard the I-9 form we fill while changing employment is only for the employer and he doesn't forward it to anybody. Does my query make any sense at all or am I just blabbering BS :o
The stuff in bold is something I am trying to figure out. How will we answer RFE's after 180 days if we file our selves? Company lawyer and employer will not be even willing to talk to us as we have moved away. What are the chances that USCIS will ask stuff related to your old employer? I support this action item.
Here is my story. I came to US in 2001 and was able to get the visa stamping done in US twice. My visa expired in 2005. Since the revalidation in US is stopped in 2004, i did not go to India until i received my AP in 2007. This is because i know couple of friends (brothers) who were stuck in India for almost 3 months when they went for marriage in 2005. So i decided not to take the risk. I went to India in 2008 and returned back on AP.
Now i cannot use AP anymore because my I140 was denied by USCIS. This is for sure an error by USCIS. In the denial letter they said my company applied for X number of green cards which is not true. Green cards applied by the company are too low compared to the number provided by the USCIS. My appeal is pending at AAO. The bill goes no where after the hearings unless there are enough co-sponsors and CHC members are ok with the bills. Then the house speaker will decide to let the bills be debated and voted on the house floor. If it goes through House then Senate will vote on it and then the Prez signs it off.
So the most important thing is to participate in the phone campaign esp the one targeting CHC members.

You can goto a portrait studio, if u dont want digital pictures. For example JCPenny. They take with a polaroid camera. I get them there.

I guess MOST of the people are concerned about the quality of photos than $ spent. My friend had RFE because the photos he got from CVS were not upto USCIS specifications. So any + experience is valuable to the forum.
