Look at your I-140 approval notice, aka I-797. At the bottom is the address (including the PO box) that processed your I-140, and that's where you have to file your I-485.
I got the above information from USCIS automated system.

I have a few questions and much thanks for those who answer.
1. I have had a H1-B in 2002, but I did not get a stamping. I quit my job and went back to school. I'm out of school now, do not have an OPT (second masters) and worried about the cap.
I heard that people who have held H1-B's in the past do not come under the cap. Is this true?
2. A company is interested in hiring me but only in the muiddle of August (they want to conduct a few more interviews). The cap would most likely be reached by then. Do I have any other options?

Did you guys get a soft LUD before the RFE? How many days lag if any?

Initially I thought its the number on I-94, but apparantly not. This is required to be filled on almost all forms which are required to be filed now that the dates are current. I485, 131, 765 etc.
Is this the number which is on my approved I-140 (A099 XXX XXX) ?

and build a parallel source of information with "real research"... Our site
should have even the reports which show immigration in negative light as
long as they are from reputable impartial organizations.
Again we can win good deal for us by not fighting idealoges as logiclife
pointed, But By putting forward a constructive ROI for immigration
without bias.

I tried arguing that it is TOTALLY impossible to bring more than five (i mean common u, ur wife and 3 kids = 5). You cant get ur parents etc., until you are a Citizen, but he wud not listen.

Me and my were indian nationals with EAD etc. Our Kid was born here. We are planning to go to India and planning to apply for Visa for our kid.
I would like to know 10year indian visa is best of PIO card is best. I read some where that if any one has PIO card, and if they are staying more than 180days, we have to report to Foriegners Report cell in india.
Do we need to report the same if kid has india visa for 10years?
I am not sure how far this is true? Can anyone guide on this.

I am a law abiding up-standing Citizen of that country, and that stupid lady was asking me why am I going there. This is like asking somebody why they are going to their house. So, I just gave her a name...now that I look back, I should have said "Mr. Johnny Walker"..since I always pick up a Johnny Walker at the duty free!!..but Dhurandhar Bhadvadekar sounded much more cool...

Did you take original 485 receipt with you?
I went to the Arlington DMV today. They took copies of my I-485 and EAD. They said they will send a letter to my home in 7 to 10 days, if I'm eligible for a drivers license. I went a month back when I didn't have the EAD with me and they did not even accept my documents for faxing it to Richmond. Man...its getting crazier everyday.

Additionally, can your attorneys makes copies of RFE response sent and attach it to the MTR maybe? I do not if that is possible or allowed or will make any difference.
I just learned that from you that there is a 33 day deadline on answering RFEs. What if the mail got lost in transit? How will the applicant/attorneys really know (unless of course you have done the online case status registration).

Just a quick comment on S4165504 reply based on my experiences that I posted before on the same thread.
The airport immigration counter or the CPB offices can correct only the mistakes from their side, and that too only within 2 or 3 days. But for cases where the I-94 expired, they dont consider it as a mistake on their side and immediately ask you to leave.
In fact, for my case when I called the LA airport immigration counter office, they adviced me that I can only go to the CPB office in downtown for any corrections and cannot come to the airport office.

In my experience, Maryland Driver license is the easiest license to get. I moved from Ohio when I was on Student OPT. I had Ohio Driver license and I went to Maryland DMV and got license for 5 years. I am wondering why you did not get Maryland license.
